I, Indranil, a quintessential Bengali and your host, am an avid globe-trotter, having traveled to more than 40 countries. I started 'Mirra homestay' as my new initiative in 2016 with the objective of giving visitors access to homely, affordable and an educative staying option. 'MIRRA homestay' is a place where you can truly enjoy the comfort and security of our Chanda family and experience our Bengali lifestyle firsthand! As our esteemed family member, at 'MIRRA homestay' we will spare no pains to make your stay special in every way. My mother Monidipa, wife Nandini and I stay in this four-storied house - we occupy the 2nd and 3rd floors , while our guests stay in the ground and first floors. The dining area & the roof garden is in the 2nd floor & 3rd floor respectively accessible by an elevator. We have two roof gardens open to the guests from 7am to 9pm. We have a 24 hour security and the the property is under CCTV surveillance.

Unfortunately I was unable to visit and stay with Indranil because my flights were all cancelled and I was unable to get to or from Kolkata. Despite this and only giving him 3 days notice he was completely understanding and for this I have given him 5 stars. I was so sorry my plans had all fallen through. He had been so kind and to recommend tours to do whilst in Kolkata (which I had also booked and had to cancel). Hopefully when I return to India I will have the opportunity to stay with him. Many thanks for his kindness and understanding.

We loved our stay in Meera homestay. We stayed for 2 nights on our trip to Sunderbans and honestly it was worth every bit to meet Indranil, his wife and aunty( Indranils’s mother) . I would strongly recommend this stay for travellers where you get a comfortable living with tons of traveling experience which Indranil has to share and aunty’s care and love. Beautiful interiors and a lovely terrace! :)

5 hearts to Indranil are more on account of the care and attention to small details which are a hallmark of genuine hospitality. Thank you Chanda family for the wonderful home away from home that you provided us and thank you homestay.com for leading us to them.

We are from Malaysia and have stayed at Indranil's place from 21st Dec till 23rd Dec 2016. The room was clean and spacious with mini hall. We love the ambience and atmosphere of the surrounding. Indranil, Mdm Chanda, Mr Santanu and "the helper" was very nice and helpful.
The plus point is that the place is quite near to metro station and many other transport services. The place is quite clean and there's an atm station which is rarely 3 minutes walk. We has a great dinner cooked by the helper and we felt that we were at home. Dont forget to eat Kolkata's Briyani at The Briyani Company ( google its location). We had a great lunch at the place. Ask for special mutton Briyani.
The minus point is..it is nearly 26 km away from the airport. It will take ard 1.5 hrs (depends on the traffic) to reach the place. So plan your transport before your departure at the airport. However, you can still easily get access to many types of transport (tram, busses, taxis, ola, uber etc ) Indranil will be helpful in the matter.

This was a wonderful experience. A nice pleasant room, and very organized host-hostess.
I was lucky to have home-cooked Bengali food because I was a solo guest.
I love the experience and if I go again to Calcutta I will stay here because of its comfort, style, cleanliness, and convenience.
