Shanti Niwas is an ancestral property which was bought by my grandfather several decades ago. The house is situated at the bank of river ganga which in hindusim is considered sacred and personified as Goddess Ganga. She is worshiped as people believe that bathing in the river causes the remission of sins and facilitates Moksha(liberation from the cycle of birth and death).
The house is situated 50 meter away from the river and the area is popularly known as Brahmaghat. The house has various sculptures on the walls and has unique gateways. it consists of 64 rooms with multiple entry and exit.It is located at the center of old city and gives real flavor of culture , lifestyle and authentic food.

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
We are happy to have you with us. We hope that you will appreciate staying here and will come again. Here are simple rule we request you to notice to help us maintain serenity, beauty, hygiene and Orientation of the place.
Be Thoughtful : About your use of all items in the rooms, switching off all the electrical appliances in the rooms when not in use, water usage, parties and noisy gatherings are not encouraged, bringing extra guest will not entertained without notice. Usage of drugs and other intoxication items are prohibited.
Smoking is allowed outdoor, we request you to cooperate with us to maintain the cleanliness of our house to serve you better. Pets are forbidden.
Check in\Out - Guests can check-in at 11:00 am and check out at 12:00 noon, light breakfast is complimentary for the number of guest mentioned in the booking, any additional guest will be charged. Remember to hand over the room keys before checking out.
Number of Guest : Our rooms have double beds which can accommodate 2 people, any additional guest will require booking another rooms.
If you wish to stay 3 people together in one room, INR 500 per day will be charged for the extra person. Not more than 3 person is allowed to stay together in one room.
Food: We serve complimentary light breakfast to the guest between 8:30 am to 10 am. If in case you would like to have other meals of the day please inform us during breakfast timing. We serve vegetarian Indian traditional food (Eggs are fine). we request our guests to let us know the food allergy(If any) before arrival to help keep them healthy :)
Breakfast and meals are served on the first floor dining area. You may join our family on those timings. Cooking in the rooms is not allowed.
House accessibility : Our guests have access to all floors, balcony and roof. You may enjoy the beautiful sunrise and sunset from top. The river view is a must. Please refrain from entering the personal area of other guests or family.
Payment : Once you confirm the booking through Homestay.com,you need to deposit the balance amount in advance with us through PayPal.
Cancellation Policy : We ask our guests to give us at least 5 days' notice for any cancellation. Any cancellation later than this will not be refunded.

The place is right on the bank of Ganges and is very spacious clean and tidy. The hosts though too old were very much energetic and hospitable and cooperative,

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
