Our house is located in Central Java, Indonesia. Central Java is next to Yogyakarta and Semarang.

We can help you enroll to Javanese traditional dancing classes at the Surakarta's palaces. We ourselves open classes for Bahasa Indonesia and Javanese. Batik making classes is also available at Batik's home industries. Cooking classes is available at our own kitchen. Please kindly book your interest and we will help you.

If you like to go shopping in fancy malls, it is around 15 minutes drive from our home. If you want to go for an experience going and shopping fresh fruits and vegetables in the local traditional market, then you only need to walk about 15 minutes and you are there.

We have a bike that you can rent while you stay at our place. You can also rent our computer with internet connection. This is available during awake time. ;-) Next time, we try to get the WiFi ;-D

20 minutes by motor (motorbike or car), or a bit longer by tricycle (becak), you can find the the city stadium or famous as Sriwedari, banks, travel agents, airflight offices, restaurants, shops and many other facilities that you may want to stop by and feel the experiences or have the needs of going.

Our veranda is multi used as a little store. We have a balcony upstairs where you can seat and relax and even enjoy simple foods and drinks. We can prepare meals for you, just order the food for what time and whether you would like Indonesian food or western. Payment in cash in rupiah is necessary. The cost for room is including Light Breakfast, so don't worry... :-)

The balcony can also be multi used as a laundry hanger for your clothes, but we do not recommend it for a lot of clothing. Enjoy your holiday and let the inexpensive laundry service stations do the washing for your clothes. We can send them up for you if you like. For underwears, if you prefer to wash them yourself, you can hang them in roofing of the balcony. You can surely also hang your jacket, raincoat and other clothing if you want.

Okey... now about wheelchair accessibility. I must be honest and clear about this by what we mean by accessible here. It means that a wheelchair can go up and down the ramps with the help of a physically strong helper and accustomed to giving assistance to people in wheelchair.

Plus we at the moment only have the bathrooms and toilets downstairs. One is a seat-toilet and the other is a squat toilet.

If you are using a wheelchair and you are really interested in staying with us then we can prepare for you the spare bedroom downstairs. But this needs to be pre-arrange and organize, as we now only prepare room for guests upstairs.

We put prices in USD for easier understanding as to how much the room cost, however, we would like to receive the payment sent in rupiahs. Thank you very much and we welcome you so at any seasons here in Indonesia where tropical fruits are so tempting....

About the Area

Our home is located in Surakarta. It is only about 5 minutes to the city of Solo. Solo and Sukoharjo is in a region called Surakarta, among other areas, such as Karanganyar and others.

Surakarta is in the island of Java. Java is located west of Bali. Surakarta is in the Central of Java. The province city of Central Java is Semarang which is about 3 ,5 - 5 hours from Solo, one way, depending on traffic.

It is around 2 hours by car / motor to Yogya, one way. There are transportation where we can book to go there, otherwise you can choose the train, bus or we can arrange on going on a trip together if possible.

In Solo itself, there are two Javanese palaces called Mangkunegaran and Kasunanan. There are now more and more places for shopping, apart from the exciting traditional markets.

Apart from car, motorcycle is a common vehicle used in Indonesia. In Solo, there are also the pedicaps and horse-carriages. Walking is surely a good way to get to a place when you are not in a hurry and want to meet the local people and to chit chat bit here and there.

Do not forget to try the exotic local foods, I will guide you through as well when you get here, if you like. Foods verify from tasty, spicy, sweet and mixture of all.

Foods are delicious, there are foods that are usually being sold in the morning, noon, or evening. For some, we may find them for all 24 hours a day but each and everyone of them. Also some vendors prefer selling their foods at different times of the day. We can also prepare some foods for you, if you wish.

So that is some description of where we live, we hope to welcome you here, soon. :-)
