About the Homestay
This is my family home and I've been living here for over 25 years now. My two younger children are still living with me. I have been hosting for over 20 years and I loved every minute of it. I am in contact with lots of students that have been living with us as part of the family.
I am close to bus stop that leaves every 20 minutes to city center and close to Swords village that has plenty of shops, restaurants, shopping centers and a lovely castle. There is a lovely park within walking distance from my home. This is a quiet and relaxing area.
I provide clean towels. Bed covers and clothes are cleaned weekly. Free wifi access and TV room. I provide breakfast (continental/toast plus tea/coffee). I welcome you to my nice cozy and quiet and warm house.
We have two small dogs, Smokie & Jesse and they are in and out of the house, as part of the family:) we cannot have any more pets. Thank you for your understanding.

Very good instance, Veronica and her family are very friendly.
beautiful place to stay, and the family very kind and helpful thanks
I stayed in Veronica's home for 2 weeks. I won't forget these two weeks ever. Veronica is the nicest woman ever. We get along very well. Staying at Veronica's home is my first station over 1-year stay in Ireland. I was afraid and worried about getting settled here while I am only on my own coming all the way here from the other side of the world - Hong Kong. Veronica knew my worries and she offered her all to help me. She recommended great places for me to visit, she taught me how to get to places by bus/train, she helped a lot with looking for jobs and accommodations and familiarizing myself with here, where I dont know much about. She took really good care of me and treated me like her own daughter. She made me feel secure, made me feel like home here and made me in love with Ireland. I thank God a lot that he brought me here as my very first step.
The room is cozy and I have everything I want. Bathroom and living rooms are all fine. Two brothers are nice to me. Two dogs are lovely and exciting. Bus stop to City Center only 2 mins walk and 20 mins walk to Swords downtown. Loads shops and restaurants there which provide you everything with a reasonable deal. I love the environment here in Swords a lot. It's a very quiet and relaxing area and very green. I enjoy walking somewhere on my own during the day. It is very suitable for those who come from cities and look for somewhere to relax and take a rest. It's only 10 minutes away from the airport. I took a taxi here and only spent 10 euros.
I would like to recommend Veronica's home to every of you. You will find yourself in love with here. I wanna say thanks to Veronica for everything. You will never know how important you are to me when I am alone here. I will certainly come visit you. Great thanks.
A wonderful stay. Veronica is a lovely host, caring and friendly. And Veronica is very helpful and makes your stay in Dublin and further travel so easy. It's like a 'home away from home' . The home is clean, quiet and in a great location. Veronica's homestay is to be highly recommended. After three months travelling alone in Ireland, I can certainly say that it is one of the best Homestays I stayed at. I would certainly stay there again.
Great location, clean and sunny room. Veronica is the kindest woman and my stay at her lovely home was the best! Highly recommend!!
Veronica is the kindest woman and gave me the warmest welcome ever!! A nice, sunny and clean room in a house awaited me and I felt at home straight away. Excellent location if you come from the airport or need to go there. Also very close to the lovely village Malahide and a straight bus will take you there in 20 minutes. Swords itself has a lively centre, shopping mall and beautiful park. All these within walking distance from Veronica's house. I highly recommend a stay with Veronica!! Thank you so much for all your kindness, Veronica. Staying with you was one of the highlights of my trip in Ireland!
Veronica is by far the best host I stayed with. Friendly, open, she made me feel like I was in my own home. I would definitely recommend her to everyone!
Veronica is an incredible host. She was really nice, from the beginning. When I arrived to Dublin, she helped me with my baggage and showed me where the bus stop and the supermarket were.
Unfortunately,I fell ill and she took care of me, she cooked for me and we went together to the doctor (Just 5 away by walk).
In other words, Veronica gave me all the freedom I wanted but, at the same time, she was there whenever I needed she.
Regarding to the sons, they are friendly. Although I didn't spend much time with them due my trips in Ireland, we really got along with each other.
They made me feel like home.
About the house:
Veronica's house felt like a palace to me. The room is really beautiful, the bed is comfortable and the temperature is excellent. I spent two months there (January-March) and I was never cold. Moreover, there are a nightstand with 3 drawers to save the clothes. In addition, there is a closet to store the jackets and trousers. Even though I went in winter season with 2 suitcases whose weight were about 20 kg each, I could store all my clothing in my room.
The bathroom has everything I needed: Hot water in the shower, a mirror and a shelving.
The kitchen is big and well-equipped. I cooked all the food I wanted, like spanish omelettes, pasta or sausage.
About the area:
Veronica's house are well situated. It is situated about 3 km away from the airport, so you can take a taxi (10-15€ and 10 minutes) or Dublin Bus (number 102) whose price is less than 5€ and 15 minutes. There 2 Dublin Bus that stop right next to the house ... just 1 minute walking. The 41C (who goes to Dublin Centre) and the 102 (which goes to the Airport). It normally takes 30-35 minutes to be in O'Conell Street (Dublin 1). However, there are other alternatives to go to Dublin Centre. If you walk 7 minutes, you can take the Swords Express. It's a local bus that goes directly to Dublin. The prize is lower and takes 20 minutes to go to the Spencer Hotel, in the International Financial Services Center (IFSC) in Dublin 1. So I would recommend considering this option to everybody, because it's really close to the Spire (10-15 minutes walking since IFSC).
In addition, there is a SuperValue (supermarket) which includes all kind of food and is really cheap. It's situated in the same area to the Boroimhe Medical Centre. Both of them are located really close, just 5 min walking, so you have all what you need really near.
In spite of the distance to Dublin Center (13 km), it just takes 30 minutes. I want to hightlight the closeness to the city center. I met a lot of people and they lived in Dublin Center. I asked them about the approximate price and it's unaffordable. But this is not everything: the flats or houses in Dublin Centre with a similar price (or just a little more expensive) are slightly, without space to store the clothes and cook in the kitchen. People who live in the town usually take 15-20 minutes to go to Dublin Centre. Don't worry about the price of the public transport. If you get the Rambler 30-Day Adult (or 5-Day), you pay exactly the same than living in the center.
Finally, if you want to go out, you must know two important things:
- Friday and Saturday there are the Nitelink (41-N) whose stop is the same than the other bus I said (one minute from the house walking). The last bus is at 4:00.
- Dublin's party starts early (7:00 pm) and it finish, as much later, at 3:00 AM. So you can take the Nitelink bus (6€). The first stop is in Temple Area.
Veronica's house was, by far, the best option I could select. The family is cheerful and helpful. The house is really beautiful with all the facilities everyone needs. The area is safe and well-communicated.
I would recommend staying in this house to everyone.
Veronica made me feel comfortable and at ease
Very friendly and approachable people.
