Welcome to our large redstone Victorian house in Dublin city the capital of The Craic, the art of life! I hope you will have some fun in Dublin, it's really what we like to do best, part of our culture and legacy is to make the most of life.
Our house is located in one of the coolest parts of Dublin. It's been voted Ireland "coolest neighbourhood" and ranks 50th in Time Out Magazine to live in. Just a little north west of O'Connell Street we are 5 minutes walk to the Phoenix Park, 10 minutes from Heuston Train Station and 10 minutes from the LUAS Line (like a tram). Everything in Dublin city is walking distance with many museums and history on the doorstep of Stoneybatter one of Dublins oldest inhabited areas, it's got heaps of character.
Stoneybatter has a great sense of community, it's full of great restaurants, cool cafes like Social Fabric, Wuff, and the Cake Cafe close by and shops and the newly built Dublin Institute of Technology where thousands of students are located. The rooms in our Victorian home are well decorated and comfortable. There is a large kitchen to make light meals in and you have access to the washing machine, and back garden.
We (Fiona & Liam), have lived in 'The Batter' for 20 years now. We have travelled a lot, the USA, Africa, Europe, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Argentina, Tobago, Hawaii and lived in Australia for 6 years of that returning September 2019.
We enjoy meeting new people and expect anyone who comes to stay with us to enjoy the house as it would be their own. We have welcomed people from all over the world, , we love to learn about other cultures and countries and aim to make your stay with us one to remember. The house was built in 1863, has 3 stories, 5 bedrooms and is full of unique character. We've renovated a lot in our house so it is clean and welcoming and we spend a lot of our time in the kitchen, cooking and chatting. Our guest rooms are large with double beds, tall ceilings and large windows with a spacious city garden. Being so close to the city, and it's a small city by global standards (more like a large town) there is plenty of transport options to choose from, a bus service takes you to the city centre in minutes, or you can walk in 15/20 minutes depending on which area. A large number of shops, restaurants, bars, gyms, yoga studios, art studios and facilities are extremely close by on foot.

I really enjoyed my stay in Fiona‘s house and I felt very comfortable all the time. She helped me out in difficult situations and i liked talking with her in the evening or morning. The location of her house is also very excellent because you can walk everywhere in a few minutes or take the bus on the bus station just 1 minute away from her house. In addition to that, the house was very clean and well decorated and located in a beautiful, safe and quiet part of Dublin. I could have never wished for a better home for my stay in Dublin and I really recommend Fiona to everyone because she is such a lovely person and I quite felt like being at home. Thank you Fiona and Liam for the amazing stay in your house!

I really enjoyed my stay with Fiona. She's such a lovely person. I had great conversations with her and also got lots of insidertips on where to go for dinner or what to do in Dublin or near Dublin. I can just recommend staying with her.

Fiona’s house is very pleasant, big, well-decorated and confortable. I felt like at home. It’s close to the centre by foot. A bus station is near the house also.
The the surroundings are safety. There are plenty restaurants, cafés, pubs around . Fiona wasn’t there (she told me before I took the reservation) but she managed all things from the US where she was ! And she was really friendly and helpful. Thanks a lot Fiona.November 2021
Fiona is such a lovely host and their home is so beautiful. My room was spacious and comfortable and they helped me to feel so at home. It’s also in a lovely area, not far from the city area and close to lots of transport. Would definitely recommend :)

It was a very good time, spent chatting in a great huge kitchen with access to the patio. The house is elegantly decorated and Fiona is a wonderful and kind host. And the stories we shared feed our imaginations. Anna & Joanna

A wonderful stay in a beautiful house! Fiona is a fantastic host. We spent many evenings talking, listening. Thank you Fiona for speaking more slowly for me. My friend and I were on an Erasmus teacher training course and we ended up in the best place for a 2 week stay. Thanks Fiona!

When I left Fiona’s house at 6 am, it was so quiet outside and the sun just started to make an appearance. It was the perfect moment to consider my time in Dublin, leaving with many heart warming memories. Wherever I was in Ireland, Fiona’s house was a home away from home I loved to come back to. Fiona, Liam, and Amber are wonderful and living together in their big and cozy home was a pleasure. Whenever I was in need of something they kindly helped me out. We had lovely chats about how Dublin works or just my most current experiences. I felt more than very well accommodated. Thank you!
