I stayed in the cabin for almost 100 days during an exchange semester at Trinity College.
The cabin is well equipped with basic amenities such as towels and bed sheets. You can cook in the cabin with an air fryer, make toast and tea and I also had the allowance to use the kitchen in the main house. Using the shower in the house was never a problem. At my request, Wi-Fi was installed in the cabin for an extra €30 per month, for which I was very grateful. I also did not have to go anywhere else to wash my clothes.
Kilmore is located in the north of Dublin city. It is not the most modern or beautiful part of Dublin, but it is a quiet and safe area with many Irish families. There are several supermarkets nearby (5-10 minutes walk). There is a direct link to the city centre with the 27B bus, which takes 20-30 minutes and operates until just before midnight.
The airport is 10 minutes away by car and just over 30 minutes by bus.Jackie, Amy and the whole family are very nice people. They always gave me advice when I needed it and answered all my questions. For example, when the heater in the cabin broke, they quickly replaced it with a modern mobile heater which really helped to warm the cabin. They were always friendly when I met them as I passed through their house. The family dogs were nice too.
The price of the cabin is not cheap, but rents in Dublin are very high everywhere. I did not feel that the price was too high for a quiet room for one person with plenty of privacy.
Dublin itself is a wonderful city and I enjoyed my stay there. You can see everything from Dublin within an hour by public transport from the cabin.
