We live in the heart of the country away from the hustle and bustle of town/city life. Myself, my husband and four of my eight children live here with two dogs, three cats and three hens. We are located 1 km from the popular Wicklow Way walk, close to the picturesque villages of Shillelagh and Clonegal, the reknowned Coollattin Golf Club and Altamont Gardens.
The house is a dormer bungalow with a bright airy kitchen for cooking, dining and chatting over cups of tea and fresh scones. Price for the room includes a light breakfast. Use of the kitchen is not facilitated but meals can be ordered which will incur an extra charge. Meals are excellent value, very tasty and nutritious.

Too bad there are only 5 hearts, as Margaret deserves many more. Visiting her house is a once in a lifetime (maybe not, as we WILL be back) experience. Her family is so welcoming. They greeted us with open arms. They immediately included my son in their evening activities. The house is a busy place, but a good busy. Thank you for making our stay a very memorable and wonderful one....one that we continue to talk about a week later.

Very congenial family . Interesting and pleasant conversations and visits in the area...excellent cooking! I confirm all that says Margaret. My son and I stayed 3 days and we really loved it. I advise it, especially to people who like nature.

We had a great stay with Margaret and her family. They were all absolutely lovely, we got lots of tea and biscuits when we arrived and even though we were driving a lot that day, we sat down in the evening for a bit of music and chatting. The room was very comfy and we got a big breakfast in the morning. Simply loved that (unfortunately very short) stay- something no hostel can give you.

That was the best host I have in Ireland! I will always remember the time I passed with Margaret and his family! The nicest people you can find. You feel that you're a part of the family. Margaret always ensures that all goes well for you. The house is warm, clean, cosy. Not in a big city, but it's worth the detour!

My son and I very much enjoyed the 3 days we spent at Margaret's house. All the members of her family are pleasant and congenial. We instantly felt at home.
Their house is a bit remote but it is very spacious, cosy, and the children can play in the garden. Besides, with a car, you can can visit interesting places. Actually, I preferred not to use the car I had rented (narrow roads...) and Margaret showed us around with all the family in their very big car. It was cheerful and we learnt a lot about the region, about the way of living of this Irish family, where education and music play an important role. Margaret, especially, is a great conversionalist - and I must also mention she is a very good cook.
I would advise her home to those who like being in nature, who enjoy walking, and also wish to speak with natives in a family atmosphere.
