For the solo traveler – Room is offered to independent female solo travelers only (shared bathroom and a busy home).
Guest must be comfortable with dogs.
BnB – Bed & Bathroom offering – no meals included – no access to the rest of the property.
This is a room only offering in my home, this is not a hotel and it is suited to females who do not require much support.

The space
Clean, quiet, and a busy home. Host works full time and cannot provide additional support to guests, other than what is offered.
Safe room in a safe house for a solo traveller!
You have your own key and have independence to come and go as you please.
This is a busy home; you are welcome to sleep in if you choose. But we have our day to get on with and won’t be tiptoeing around to accommodate sleep ins. There are designated quiet times as covered in rules. If you are out and about until late hours no issues only be mindful, we are sleeping.
My home is well heated. If you require more heat than is provided, heater can be rented at 12 euro per day (to be paid upfront) to allow for the additional electricity bills associated with running a space heater.
If it’s not called out it’s not included.
Refreshments - Tea & Coffee Tray (in room) this will include kettle, cups, water & a selection of teas & coffees (non customizable standard tray) - items can be replenished by guest at their own cost in the local shops or can be requested from host at an additional cost of €1 per item.

No access to rest of my property
Note there are no locks on the doors inside my house (only bathroom) I will respect your privacy as I hope you will mine.

If you are looking for the type of host that will spend time with you during your stay this is not me. Happy to help, but beyond that I do not offer anything more.
Happy to answer questions on local area where/when I can, in general prefer to keep to myself. I prefer also for guests to do the same. My offering is for an independent guest. Internet is pretty good here, the information you need should be at your finger tips.
Early riser and active household, either working or out and about.
I work full time and have a busy schedule at work. If I am working from home during your stay, if you require my assistance just make sure I am not on a call if you meet me wandering around upstairs as I may not be able to address you.
If you require assistance while I am working you may need to wait for me to assist you.
Always more than happy to help but sometimes I can’t or it is beyond what I can offer.
As a guest in my home I hope you have come to Cork for the delights that it does offer. If you have come for other reasons which may not bring joy to your life. My well wishes and condolences. As a host I cannot offer your personal support for either celebrations or commiserations. I do wish you my best but I have a lot of things going on in my personal life and adding this kind of support to a guest is not something I provide. As a guest in my home, I won’t be expecting any kind of personal support from you either.
Guests need to be mindful that they may not be able to interact with me or my dog while I am working! My dog is my work companion.
As I work full time and pretty busy with other activities, I am available mainly via messaging app.
Other things to note
My Dogs Home - This is my dogs home and he has free run of this house. If you are frightened of dogs this is not the house for you! My friendly dog has the freedom to move about the house as he chooses!
My dog is very playful and likes to say hello, we will not accommodate hiding from guests if they do not like dogs.
I always remind guests to close the door of their room as this is my dogs home he may like to have a roll in the guest bed. If this does happen and you require a change of bedclothes happy to accommodate but you will need to change bedclothes yourself as the cleanliness and safety of the room is your responsibility while you are a guest.
No need to worry, I keep the room secure before you arrive so no need to worry my dog will not have rolled in the clean sheets.

You are only entitled to what I clearly offer and if you are looking for anything extra on what I offer, then this is not the right fit for you.

About the Area
House is located on north side of the city in a quiet and safe suburb. 3km from city centre, 15 mins from airport, walking distance to apple, bus stop outside door.

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
Payment is made in cash on arrival.
Your Private Room
a) You are responsible for the cleaning of your bedroom. You are expected to keep it clean and tidy at all times.
b) For hygiene and safety reasons, it is not allowed to to eat or store food in your room.
c) All issues or necessary repairs relating to the room (eg: bulb not working) must be reported to your host immediately.
There is no access to the rest of my property. Access only to guest bedroom and shared bathroom.
Cleaning - You are expected to keep all the rooms that you use clean, (bathroom) by cleaning these spaces immediately after using them
Visitors – strictly forbidden.
Quiet Hours - There is a strict low noise policy in place at night as other people in the house might be asleep. You are expected to be mindful of not making too much noise. Please go ahead and use bathroom/ shower etc…. just no loud phone calls/ music etc…
Alcohol, Smoking and Drugs
a) It is strictly forbidden to consume or store any alcohol on the property at any time during your stay.
b) It is strictly forbidden to smoke anywhere on my property, including in your private bedroom, I would rather have nonsmoking guests
c) It is strictly forbidden to consume illegal drugs.
No smoking in the house or property. Due to the excessive cost and time required to remove the smell, guests who violate this policy will be immediately asked to leave and their reservation cancelled with no refund.
Host's Products - Host will allow you use of some products, cleaning products & basic toiletries - shelf in shower (shower gel & shampoo combo).
House Key - You have your own key and have independence to come and go as you please. Key is to be hanging in hallway when in you are in my home, mine will be there too when I’m at home. Key is only to be taken when leaving house. Security/ Safety / Privacy reasons.
When leaving/ entering house at anytime guest is to ensure that the door is securely closed and locks behind them.
On day of check out, keys will be removed from hall location (unfortunately I have had a few mistakenly take the key with them and have had to retrieve), but if you need the key and will be back before check out let me know and I can give you key.
This is my dog’s home and he has the freedom of his home, so please be kind to him he only wants to say hello and play.
Anyone who is unkind to my dog will be asked to leave with no refund.
Check in time – between 16.00 & 20.00 – mutually pre agreed time to be agreed prior to arrival (this is not a 4-hour check in window time is to be agreed prior to arrival). If we agree a check in time and you need to change, no issues just let me know in a timely manner and then we can arrange another mutually agreed time.
Check in time exceptions – some flexibility is allowable just ask; I might be able to accommodate.
Early check in / Bag Drop off – Host may be able to support but not always – no entitlement, host will accommodate if they can. (if requested & supported maybe subject to an additional fee at hosts discretion)
Late check out / Bag storage - Host may be able to support but not always – no entitlement, host will accommodate if they can. If supported, you will need to collect bag at a mutually agreed time as you will not have key or right to access my property after official check out time. (if requested & supported maybe subject to an additional fee at hosts discretion)
To ensure that I have sufficient time to clean the room for incoming guests, I will charge guests for an additional night's rental at the posted rate if the unit is occupied after 10am.
Room Security - Please ensure when vacating room for the day that room is secure. Large window in room should be closed, devices turned off or plugged out etc…. Safety of the room is your responsibility. Host may need to access guest room to close the window as it is visible from the main road that it is open.
Disclaimer - I will only access your room for safety or security reasons. I will do my best to notify you in advance via message or text but in some cases I may be in a rush myself so may not have time to text or wait for your reply. Your privacy like my own will be respected so my only concern will be to keep my guest room and home secure. I am entrusting you with far more of my life than you are entrusting me with yours Your safety and privacy I will treat like I treat my own. Safe, secure and no concerns.
It is the guest’s responsibility to review my offering and understand what is included, as agreed in these house rules when making this booking.
If it’s not called out it’s not included, there should be no expectation for anything more.
As a guest you should be aware of the type of host I am and that I like to keep to myself, there should be no further expectation of more.
If a request is made which is outside my offering, at times host maybe able to accommodate and there may be a charge at the discretion of the host.

I had a lovely stay with Anne Maire. I was travelling for work, and I found the bed very comfortable and bathroom was just at top of landing. There was free parking, and I got the bus into down, which was 20 mins away and bus stop was at top of road (2min walk). Great value for a great stay and ideal for solo lady travellers.

Ann was welcoming, friendly and the dog was so cute and well-behaved. The room was lovely and clean, the bed was very comfortable and cozy. The location was perfect for me :)

Lovely stay. Lovely hostess . Ann Marie was very kind and friendly. Anything in the house was clean and tidy. The room felt "homey" and private and even though it was advertised as a shared bathroom. The location was easy walking distance to the city, It was very convenient to walk or take a bus to the city. I will come back again.....Thank you Ann.

I've had the most lovely time in Cork at Ann Marie's. The neighbourhood is very calm, and her house is so nice and cosy. As a good host, she immediately made me feel at home. I truly recommend !

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
