Family description:
We are a friendly active professional family that would love to welcome you to our home.
We are a professional couple working full time with 4 children, Joshua 13, Grace 10, Douglas 4 yrs 11 months and Ruaridh 2 years 9 months. Our animals include Sylvester the cat, blueberry the hen and Moscow the budgie! We are considering getting a dog in the next few weeks. They all live outdoors but visit indoors for short periods. Moscow lives in doors in his cage. We have lots of outdoor playing equipment - trampoline, swings, slide, goals and a large lawn for playing and relaxing .
Our home is in a beautiful setting in the country approx 6km from the local town - Thurles. Student rooms have a desk, wardrobe and a lovely comfortable bed, they also have an en-suite bathroom with a shower, bath toilet and wash basin or they share this with another student or family member. We are just 5 minutes drive from Thurles town centre and its shops, cinema, park, library, golf and squash club, swimming pool etc.
We have a large selection of arts and crafts. A guitar, keyboard and fiddle/violin are also available for anyone who wants to keep up with their instrumental practice.
Students will have access to Wifi.
We enjoy local historical / cultural trips for students and take pride in sharing Irish history and culture with our foreign visitors.
Our children enjoy horse-riding and swimming as a frequent activity.
Squash, football, hurling are other sports they enjoy.
We like to go for walks in the countryside including mountain trekking and forest walks and you would be welcome to join us.

About the Area
Our house is located a 5 minute drive from Thurles Town on the northern western side. There is a main rail line in Thurles from Cork - Dublin - Belfast. A bus service also operates feom the town.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
