We are an Australian family that relocated to Vancouver 10 years ago. My daughter and I are experienced homestay hosts for many years to International and local students especially with the UBC English Language Institute, nearby Secondary schools (Kits, Lord Byng), Eaton Arrowsmith & the Whitecaps Academy.
Kitsilano (Kits to locals) is where the action is, being close to a vibrant diverse community within walking distance to beaches, shops, bars, restaurants/cafes, community centre and library. There is easy access to transport routes to and from downtown, UBC and the Canada Line (train network) or hire a bike to ride along the dedicated bike lanes or seawall for a fun day out.
The room available is on the main floor of a sunny spacious 3 bedroom detached house. It has a comfortable queen sized bed, 100% cotton sheets/towels, desk/chair, mirror, lamps, walk-in wardrobe.
We can also offer a wide variety of healthy home cooked meals from around the world such as Japanese, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Australian, Indian and more in both vegetarian or meat options. We can also provide fresh fruits, snacks, baked goods, smoothes, juices and choose organics whenever possible. This can be arranged separately at an extra cost. We prefer to host a female full-time student or worker and have a current valid police record check.

Our house is located on the west side of the city in a vibrant community close to famous Kits beach. We are 5 km from downtown and only 15 minutes drive from the airport. Bus stops are only minutes away by foot from the house off Broadway going east/west (UBC & links to train station) or to MacDonald St going north/south (downtown). Kits is bike friendly, very safe and walkable.

Please be respectful of our home. Keep your room clean. No overnight guests or partying. Quiet time after 10pm (includes shower and laundry). No pets, vaping or drug use - sorry.

Absolutely loved my stay at Alison's house, it was the best thing that could have happened to me. The house is spatious, clean and perfectly situated in a cool neighbourhood. Alison is the kindest person on earth and also an excellent chef. She made my adaptation to Vancouver so much easier and was always open for a chat. I had the pleasure to keep in contact with her after the homestay and we had many gettogethers: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, graduation, ... I also met a few of her other former homestay kids, and they unisono love Alison.
I can therefore - from the bottom of my heart - recommend this homestay. Thank you Alison!!
Come posso prenotare?
Contatta l'host per verificare la loro disponibilità e chiedi loro eventuali informazioni necessarie a finalizzare il tuo soggiorno. Una volta che l'host conferma che e' disponibile per le date richieste, è possibile completare la prenotazione.
Quando pago?
Una volta che l’host conferma di essere disponibile, puoi procedere con la prenotazione e pagare il 15% a titolo di commissione di prenotazione (con un massimo di 250 $£€ per soggiorni estesi) e un 25% di deposito utilizzando diverse opzioni di pagamento: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. Il deposito e’ incassato in anticipo per conto dell’host per consentirgli di tutelarsi contro eventuali cancellazioni effettuate con meno di 7 giorni di anticipo o nel caso di mancato arrivo. Pagherai quindi il restante saldo direttamente all’host all’arrivo. Il deposito del 25 % viene trasferito all’host due giorni lavorativi dopo la data prevista di arrivo. Questo pagamento a titolo di deposito ti verrà restituito solamente nel caso in cui cancelli la prenotazione con un preavviso di almeno 7 giorni rispetto alla data di arrivo.
Quando posso condividere i miei dati di contatto?
Non appena la prenotazione viene confermata dall'ospite e la commissione di prenotazione viene pagata, Homestay.com invierà una mail di conferma con gli indirizzi email e numeri di telefono per mettersi in contatto direttamente. E' vietato scambiare contatti diretti attraverso il sistema di messaggistica prima del pagamento della prenotazione.
