Staying at Risa’s home was more than just a visit—it was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. Since I was 14 years old, I had dreamed of coming to Japan, and from the moment I reserved my stay, Risa assured me she would do everything she could to help make that dream come true—and she absolutely did.

From meeting me at the bus station to make sure I didn’t get lost, to caring for me when I wasn’t feeling well, Risa was consistently kind, attentive, and deeply thoughtful. Her home was immaculate, warm, and full of life. I especially loved how it attracted guests from all over the world—each day brought new, exciting conversations and cultural exchanges. One of the highlights was our international dinner night, where we all cooked dishes from our home countries. It was unforgettable!

Risa’s home felt like a community, a sanctuary, and a joyful space where dreams are nurtured. I can’t thank her enough for all she did, even when she had so much going on herself. She truly deserves more stars than this platform allows.

I will definitely return, and I’m so grateful to have built a lasting friendship. If you’re considering staying here—don’t hesitate. You will not be disappointed.

The house was very clean and comfortable. It had everything I needed.

The host, Risa-san, is a very kind and pleasant person who helped me a lot during my stay and made it a lot more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been. Being a native Osakan and having hosted many guests, she had a lot of recommendations to give. We talked exclusively in Japanese and she was patient when there was something I didn't understand or know how to say. Also, her being an unusually young homestay host made the conversations feel a lot more "eye-to-eye".

On my first night there, Risa offered to pick me up at the metro station as her house is quite some distance, about 20 minutes walk.
Usually without a luggage bag, it's doable and considering it's amidst housing area, if first time going it's best to be able to have her show where is her homestay first.
The room was very comfy, the whole house was so homey and really, you'll be getting a full-fledged Japanese homestay feel.
When I stayed, there was mainly 1 housemate from the UK and Risa. This was just nice arrangement for me as I got to mingle with both UK housemate who is a lovely person and also Risa herself when she returns from work at night.
Risa treasures her house very much, and we can see it in the way she takes care to clean the house, the way she maneuvers around her kitchen making coffee for breakfast and sometimes make simple dinner. And it is a joy living with a host who loves her house that much. She sometimes do have family members around as well, her cousin dropped by when I stayed and her family is coming for dinner the next week.
Risa also goes very much out of her way to ensure the guests are comfortable and also offer help with any issues we have. I try not to trouble her, since my aim is to experience solo travel in japan. No issue is big enough to trouble her so I learned the ropes around Higashiosaka myself.
Personally, her homestay area is near a metro station and a JR station, both very good to explore the surroundings. I went to Nozaki (for a small event) and Fuse at Risa's recommendation and both were a hidden delight.
In short, all the facilities you need in the house, you will have; Travelling-wise you have within 20 mins walking distance each to a JR and Metro station; A friendly working adult host who just very warmly welcomes you into her home - Perfect for a solo traveler like me.

Risa est une très bonne personne. Elle essaye toujours de se rendre disponible en jonglant entre son travail et le Homestay. Elle est toujours joyeuse. Pour ma part, elle est venue me chercher à la gare de Tokuan, j’ai été très bien accueilli et sa maison se trouve dans un quartier calme. Il y a 4 chambres disponibles toutes avec une clé ( rdc et étage ). Un balcon pour étendre le linge ou se trouve le lave linge. Chacun a une clé aussi de la porte d’entrée. Je me suis senti comme chez moi en respectant les coutumes japonaises. Sa maison se situe aussi près de la gare Takaida. Sa maison est un bon emplacement pour se rendre à Osaka city. C’est sûr que je reviendrais. Domo arigato pour tout Risa
