Bed and breakfast by the Beach

Lawrence & Lesley Sutherland are truly wonderful host!! I can't say enough good things about them! Lawrence gave me a ride to the bus stop when I had to depart! This was really helpful and I caught the bus in time! The entire upper loft of the house is for the Homestay.com guest. Very, very roomy and comfortable. The view of the ocean just across the street from the second floor is so beautiful and amazing and, if you open the windows, there is a nice sea breeze blowing in. Very clean with all kinds of comfortable chairs and a nice kitchen with a refrigerator. This is easily within walking distance of the CBD and very close to a bus stop that will take you to Wellington CBD in less than an hour. There are all kinds of good restaurants in Petone and a very large grocery store that sells all kinds of wine. You should stay here if you want to see Wellington, because Petone is so beautiful and Wellington is so easy to get to. Also, if you do not have a car, and are arriving at the airport, there is a direct airport to CBD Petone bus that stops only a few blocks from this address. This location is next to a quite street and you can walk all around the area with no fear. I felt very very relaxed walking around the neighborhoods near this house. I highly highly recommend this location. No need to check the other Homestay.com Petone locations, because this is, without any doubt, the BEST place to stay.

L & L were very gracious when I arrived. The room was pleasant, with a bit of a breeze and lots of drawer space, good bedside lighting, comfortable pillows. The heated towel rack and a sink in the room was a big plus. Their very well-behaved dog Tallulah remained quiet and friendly.

The beach across the street, the varied types of shops in the town, and the interesting Saturday produce market were worth a look.

Breakfast was ample. I was encouraged to watch TV with them, or sit on the patio or on the porch, or at the front window at sunset.

I was made to feel comfortable and enjoyed my stay.

From the time you meet Lawrence & Lesley, you are made to feel welcome, very friendly and up for a chat about anything and everything, we had the whole of the top floor with superb views out to sea and over to Wellington, Lawrence is understandably very proud of his loft conversion and quite rightly so, it's quirky as well as tastefully done with everything up there you would want, from cooking if you wanted to a lovely shower to a comfy bed, would recommend and would stay again if ever in this part of the world

Wir hatten tolle Tage bei Lawrence und Lesley und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank für den herzlichen Empfang! Das Loft ist total süß und komfortabel. Die Fotos entsprechen der Realität. Der Blick auf's Meer ist klasse. Die Dachschrägen sind allerdings nicht so hoch, so dass sich größere Leute ab 1,80 m etwas ducken müssen. Obwohl der Hund nicht ins Loft darf, gibt es doch ein paar Hundehaare. Ansonsten alles super. Die Lage ist toll: fußläufig ins Zentrum von Petone und nur 15 Min. mit dem Auto ins Zentrum von Wellington. Perfekt. Können das Loft von Lawrence und Lesley nur weiterempfehlen. Die beiden sind sehr herzlich und tolle Gastgeber.
