I stayed with Claudia for 2 months, and I can confidently say that they were the best 2 months of my life.
I was on a gap semester of college, and I’ve always dreamt of traveling to Italy. So I decided to find a host family to stay with, and based off of Claudia’s wonderful reviews, I reached out to her. She was immediately responsive and was happy to host me. I had no idea that by the end of my stay, I would be fighting back tears upon saying goodbye to her. She is truly a special person—staying with her is a gift in so many ways. She is incredibly kind and warm right upon meeting her (after my long day of travel, she immediately cooked me pasta!). She helped me improve my Italian SO much, and was always so excited to see me when I would come back home after a day of exploring Florence. She always makes sure that you feel comfortable in her home, and she even allowed for me to invite a few friends over for a group dinner at the end of my stay! She made us carbonara and even accommodated for my two friends who don’t eat meat!
These are just a few of the countless memories that I will forever cherish from my stay with Claudia. If you’re like me and feel a bit apprehensive about staying with a host family, regardless of the plethora of reviews online, please be assured that Claudia is absolutely one of the best options for you. I cannot express enough how wonderful she is—without her, I’m sure that my experience wouldn’t have been half as amazing. I know that she’ll be in my life forever, and I’m so grateful to have found her on this website!!

Thanks a lot again to Claudia for the warm welcome and for hosting us in her apartment. I loved the location (you almost get a local feeling), the connection via the viatram to the hustle and bustle of the city, the quietness of the apartment. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room but we always had a good sleep. It was hot but the fact that apartment was in the basement made it bearable. Thank you!

Staying with Claudia and her son for a month was just like family. She looked after me so well and included me in her life. She also helped me with my Italian which I needed. We even had a big Italian party at her mums house where I learnt how to make home made Gnocchi!! I had full use of the kitchen which was great for a months stay. The room I had was nice with a door outside to the garden, and my own bathroom just outside the room.
Her place is about a 20 minute walk from Florence city, or you can catch the tram which is 5 mins from the house, and 5 mins into the city. It’s 1.50e which you must validate once on board. It takes you straight to SMN Station. There is also a COOP(supermarket) in walking distance from the house for daily supplies.
I would definitely recommend to stay with Claudia, I now consider her and her family mine too. I feel blessed to have found this lovely stay.February 2023
