This was the perfect homestay. The central position is ideal for the train station and to explore the whole city. The room was comfortable and spacious, especially as I was a solo traveller, and I slept better than at home. Jeanne and Fabio are wonderful hosts, warm and friendly but not at all intrusive. I had dinner with them and Jeanne is a great cook, her food was delicious and i could not have have eaten better anywhere in Florence. I hope that I will be able to stay with them again on my return.
Jeanne and Fabio were good hosts. I was in town for a nearly week-long event and did a little sight-seeing as well. Location was fantastic for accessibility to places I needed to go and public transportation. Although a busy few days, it was nice to be able to have easy access to "home." I enjoyed having dinner with the family the first evening so I could get to know them and they me, which I feel is important (well worth the 15 Euro). They graciously offered me lunch with them shortly after I arrived. The food was delicious. Breakfasts were simple but good. Homemade jams. Local bread. Homegrown olive oil. Usually some type of fruit available. On my last morning I had to leave quite early, before the family awoke, however, Jeanne was gracious enough to leave a few things on the table the night before and tell me what I had access to in the refrigerator so I could eat a breakfast before leaving...felt like home. :) The room had multiple beds. Clean, well set up for guests, whether one or many. Wi-Fi connection was good. Might be helpful if a fan would be available in the heat of the summer...but I never asked...yet I stayed comfortable enough to sleep. FYI: Fabio does smoke his cigar indoors with the windows open to ventilate. Overall, I would recommend Jeanne and Fabio as hosts and would consider staying there again if and when I return to Florence.
I had a most enjoyable stay with Jeanne and Fabio. They are lovely people who make you feel at home immediately. I also had some delicious meals with them. If I go back to Florence, which I hope to do, I shall certainly ask to stay with them again! Many thanks to both of them.
Great trip! Jeanne and Fabio are really nice and welcoming. Their flat is beautiful, the room is comfortable and very clean. Very well located at 5 minutes from the city centre.
Unfortunately Jeanne was not home during our stay but her husband Fabio took great care of us! The food and company was amazing! I would recommend eating dinner with them if you do stay!
The location was amazing, 5 minutes from the train station and located in the center of Florence. Everything was in walking distance with a lot of shops just below.
Stay with them and you are guaranteed to have a great experience!
My friend and I stayed in Jeanne and Fabio's house for five nights and we had a wonderful experience. Firstly, their house is in the most perfect location for a visit to Florence. It is within walking distance of every major attraction and the neighbourhood has a very lively nightlife. Jeanne and her family are fantastic hosts - very welcoming, helpful and informative. Jeanne cooked for us on the first night and the food was amazing. I will happily stay here again next time I stay in Florence. I couldn't recommend Jeanne's place highly enough.
nous avons ete tres satisfaites de notre sejour. famille chaleureuse, accueil convivial.
a recommander sans hesitation. bien situe au sein de la ville.
on y mange tres bien. petit dejeuners super.
Jeanne and Fabio were the most wonderful hosts, warm and extremely
What a lifetime experience I had!!!!
Jeanne is the most superb cook, teacher and just a unique person. Fabio is warm and welcoming and extremely talented!!
Thank you Homestay!!!!
I highly recommend the family
I was lucky enough to spend 6 days with Jeanne and Fabio during my visit to Italy and the UK recently. What a fabulous experience! Jeanne gave me invaluable guidance on finding my way around Florence as well as telling me about some of the lesser known places, eg. The Fresh Markets where I was like a kid in a toy store - a fantastic variety of wonderful food! I decided to pay extra for evening meals "at home" and I can honestly say I've never eaten better. Every night we had 3 course meals, all cooked from scratch, including the pasta - everything was buonissimo! Jeanne also gave me a cooking lesson one night which I thoroughly enjoyed. I bought Jeanne's own cookbook and hope to replicate some of the dishes at home. My bedroom was clean, comfortable and warm and I had everything I needed. Their house is gorgeous and really is very well located in the centre of Florence. I met their son, Andrea, who was kind enough to take my luggage up and down the stairs when I arrived and left. I watched a couple of games of footy in the evening with Fabio - they really made me feel like part of the family. I would highly recommend this homestay, was the best value for money during my 5 week holiday and I miss them already!
A wonderful stay in every way. The reason this one tipped the scales for me (not knowing the hosts in advance of course) was the location and the fact that Jeanne offers Italian lessons. You will not find a better location, first of all. I found this one to be dead center of everything we wanted to do and see in Florence. We could walk to everything, and who wants to waste time on trains and busses, and waste money on taxis? We were in a lovely neighborhood, quiet and lined with delightful shops to peek into. I wanted to learn some Italian while in Florence, and I do take a class here in Boston, but Jeanne turned out to be a much better teacher than the person I study with here. She has a natural and very logical way of presenting the material, and I was able to put some of the lessons into practice right away. Even now when I'm trying to speak Italian, I'm thinking "Jeanne taught me that" and I still look at the notes I took while there. Now, on to the food. When I got back from Italy, I certainly tried to "up my game" in the meals department. I'm not sure I'll ever come up to the level of the meals we got at this homestay. Seriously, you're in Italy, you are focused on food! Jeanne's cooking rivaled the restaurants in many cases. We dined with Jeanne and Fabio for our last three nights in Florence because we enjoyed their company so much and the food was sure to be a hit. One of the main concerns of a homestay is if the people are going to be too friendly or not friendly enough. We found the Jeanne and Fabio were just right. They were helpful without being at all overbearing. Part of the fun of travel is making mistakes and discoveries and you can't have someone holding your hand all the time. They were helpful when we asked and "hands off" when we didn't. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and the room was just what we were looking for. I was traveling with my 14 year old son and our hosts were very kind and understanding with him. Highly recommended. When I go to Florence again, I'm making a beeline for Jeanne and Fabio. They are wonderful
