Our family consists of 4 people: Linda and Michele, 53 and 56 years respectively, Viola and Rossana daughters aged 18 and 21. And 2 small lovely dogs: Ninnolina and Negrita ;).

The town of Castelnuovo di Porto is only a few kilometers from the center of Rome connected by a small railway station (Riano is the nearest station from where to get home in 5 minutes walking) along of Rome-Civita Castellana. This is an incredible advantage for our guests. In fact, the line is one of the busiest trains in the city of Rome. The trains then suspended in the morning, while the service is suspended at night. From the Flaminio square to 8:25 pm. Buses run instead Regularly Throughout the day with Saxa Rubra.

The train takes 25/30 minutes to Piazza del Popolo, in the heart of Rome (a few steps away from Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, Piazza di Spagna, Villa Borghese, Via del Corso, Piazza Venezia) Walk to the historic streets or take the metro or bus to get to other neighborhoods or Termini station.

The historic village of Castelnuovo di Porto is a few minutes drive from the house, and a wonderful opportunity for a half-day trip: wine bar, both with tables in the open, to try to drink, cappuccino or espresso.
The towns of Riano, Sacrofano and Morlupo are easily accessible to other places.

Viejo National Park, one of the most important natural parks in the region.

Our house is on three floors. The master bedroom for rent is on the ground floor, open from earlyHibiscus, roses, begonias, pansies, lavender, rosemary, jasmine and fuchsia. Facing the pool, the pool is surrounded by laurels and flowers, towels, table with four stools, garden chairs and a lovely outdoor shower.

The master bedroom is ideal for one or two people, but does not have an outside window. It is not large but has a double bed, a closet, a desk and a library. Guests have access to large utility rooms with direct access from the room to a sink/wash. Large bathroom with shower, bidet, sink, cabinet and flap with three drawers. The lines for the bedroom, the bathroom and the pool, come from the house.

KIDS'ROOM, with adjustable bed Children up to 10 years.THE ROOM IS SUGGESTED ONLY FOR CHILDREN, NOT FOR ADULTS. The bedroom has no doors and is very bright thanks to a window overlooking the pool.

Light breakfast toast and pastries prepared by the lady of the house. Upstairs are the bedrooms of the family.

The house is surrounded by two gardens. There are three levels, sofas, beds, benches, hammocks and swings. In spring and summer, with nice weather, either by the pool or on the terrace.

Linda works as an artist. She speaks Italian, English and French and understands a little Spanish and German.

The daughters are welcoming and happy to host people from other countries. They both speak Italian, English and French. Viola speaks Spanish too.

Both animal lovers, like their parents, love to travel, draw, model, read and play. The eldest studies law at the University, while the youngest attends a foreign languages high school.

The whole family enjoys going to the cinema, theater, art exhibitions, concerts and cooking.

Lunches, dinners, packed lunches, and transfers to and from the airport or other destinations in the provinces of Rome are provided on request for an extra fee.

Once the reservation is confirmed. Guests can pay by bank transfer.

Tetyana.

Not good for using as a base from which to explore Rome without a car. The location is far away, ex-urb’s, not just suburbs. Trains to Riano in the evening are infrequent and connections from other mid-points often miss each other. Several times it took us 2-½ to 3 hours to get from Rome to the homestay, stuck on train platforms waiting for connections. Also, the walk along the highway from the homestay to the train station is dangerous, particularly at dusk. There were other issues as well. The host will not give out a key, which is a problem when no one is home. Homestay guests stay in a basement family room that has no windows, just two sets of French doors that open onto the pool deck. The doors stand open all day, and we were bitten by mosquitoes every night. My daughter lost count after 25 bites. The interior bedroom is airless -- it’s a Harry Potter room under the stairs without a window, smaller than the website photos look. That plus being locked in by the host at night without the ability to unlock the doors to the outside made us feel pretty claustrophobic. One morning the host did not come down to unlock the doors before she left for work. Her daughter and I could not find a key. Although the house is pretty and clean, the bed is comfortable, and the host is pleasant, I would not recommend this homestay.

Homestay Host Family Linda in ,

This was our first Homestay, and we were very happy with the experience. From our first meeting at the airport to her dropping us off at Roma Termini, Linda was absolutely kind and patient with us. She and her family were wonderful hosts. The home was lovely and full of life. We were treated very well by all members of the family, including their little doggy. The bed was comfortable to sleep in, and they allowed us to use the full lower level of the home, which is a very nice library and entertainment area. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable. Linda provided a lovely gluten-free continental breakfast each morning. For a fee, she prepared delicious gluten-free dinners for us to enjoy. There is local train and bus transportation within easy walking distance of the home; however, neither the path nor the train station is wheelchair friendly and might prove difficult for someone with a severe walking disability. We would definitely recommend Linda's Homestay to anyone who is looking to enjoy a wonderful experience with an Italian family in Rome.
