Come experience Jamaica like a local in a peaceful and fun neighborhood. We will help to show you what Jamaica is all about: the food, the music, the dance, the landscape and the people.

The house is only a 2 minute drive from the beach and the area is peaceful. Our premises are very secure and the neighborhood is mostly quiet. You will have a nice private bedroom with a Queen-sized bed, closet and dresser. You will share the bathroom, kitchen, living room, porch and garden with one other room. Clothes iron and Wi-Fi are provided free of cost. Laundry can be done for $5 per load.

We have Wi-Fi and cable tv for your entertainment. I also have dominoes that you can use. There are many bars, sports bars, restaurants, clubs and the expansive Caribbean Sea for you to enjoy yourself. There's snorkeling, rafting, horseback riding, offroading, zip lining, hiking, bird watching, swimming, hunting, boating, parasailing and so much more to do!

If you want to go out for lunch or dinner, I recommend one of these restaurants that are located nearby:

Chill Out Hut - Jamaican and international cuisine and seafood. Try their Chicken Alfredo!

Lilliput Jerk Centre (featured in Food and Wine Magazine) - Jerk (Barbecue) pork, chicken and seafood.

Border -Seafood (conch, fish, shrimp, lobster, octupus). The lobster is to die for!

Burger King and KFC are only a few minutes away by car.

Taxis are always available 24 hours a day so if you do not get a rental car you will have access to transportation.

You've got to come experience Jamaica with us 'cause "Once You Go, You Know"!!

About the Area

Our house is located in the tourist capital of Jamaica, Rose Hall in Montego Bay. It is 10 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from downtown Montego Bay. You walk 5 minutes downhill to the main road to catch a taxi or the public (yellow) bus. The bus passes by every half hour. Also, the same path takes you to the beach, just across the road.

We are 1.5 hours from Negril and Ocho Rios which means you can explore a third of the island with my home as your base. The main highway passes by the community so you don't even need a rental car. You can get to Ocho Rios and Negril for only $15 each by coach bus (like Greyhound). It's even cheaper on the local public bus. If you want to go a bit nicer/private, you can rent a car for around $40 per day or charter a taxi for $120 round-trip.

House Rules

We only have 7 simple rules. We hate to have a long list but it is better to be safe than sorry.
1. No smoking inside the house.
2. You are expected to clean up after yourself. So, no dirty dishes, sinks or toilets, bottles thrown around etc.
3. If you disturb others with loud fights/quarrels we will ask you to stop. The second instance we will have to ask you to leave. The same applies to boisterous/grossly disrespectful/intoxicated or other inappropriate behavior.
4. If you cause any damage to any of our property you will need to repair/replace whatever is damaged. Also, If you are going out, please lock the door and low windows.
5. I expect you to use the electricity and water to your comfort but I cannot accept waste. For example, do not go sit on the porch leaving the TV on inside. Please understand that electricity cost in Jamaica is about 34 US cents per kWh.
6. Please bring house shoes with you as we do not allow shoes beyond the front stoop.
7. I do not allow visitors (especially local men). There are times when I will relax this rule but it depends on the situation.

That's it! :)

Smoking Rules

Your host is a non-smoker.

Smoking is allowed outdoors only.
