Hello, I’m Yuko living in Ashikaga city. My house is old Japanese style and very relaxing. It is well located, supermarkets and restaurants are walk distance and also you can enjoy rich nature and temples. I love traveling and learning languages. I’m happy to share some Japanese culture. Recently I started full time job so I don’t have much time but still like to enjoy time with you cooking Japanese food, hiking or chatting in Japanese. Please enjoy having your own space and relaxing time here in Ashikaga.

Staying with Yuko was a huge highlight of my trip to Japan. I stayed with her for one week, and I deeply appreciated how thoughtful she was in planning activities to do based on what I was interested in, and being patient in speaking to me in my broken Japanese because I wanted to practice. We visited nearby mountains, enjoyed Ashikaga's beautiful flower garden, participated in cultural activities like calligraphy and tea ceremony, made hot pot together, as well as many other memorable things!
I highly recommend Yuko's homestay. Don't worry even if you don't speak Japanese, Yuko is great at English and takes great care of you. Ashikaga is also a beautiful town with many activities to do. You will not get bored! Yuko also consistently checks on how much you want to do and adjusts plans accordingly. If you want to experience something a little off the beaten trail of Tokyo-Osaka-Kyoto, this homestay in Ashikaga is a gem.

I was initially a little hesitant to try a homestay on my own but Yuko is really passionate about what she does and made the experience amazing and comfortable. She is so dedicated to making sure you have a great time and is always facilitating a new experience. Ashikaga is also a great town and nearby Tatebayashi and Sanno are similarly interesting.

Yuko is a super nice lady. She drove and showed me places around. We made たこ焼き, went hiking, did calligraphy, and whatnot. Also, she was so patient with my Japanese. Haha!! Thank you Yoko さん.

To say thank you is not enough. Yuko and her family are all wonderful people. My stay at Yuko's was truly a unique and warm-hearted experience. I am beyond grateful to have met Yuko and her family and have spent these few days together. I regret I only stayed 3 nights! I wish I could have spent weeks with them. They make you feel at home, welcome and they all have such kind hearts. どうもありがとうございます。

I had a wonderful stay at Yuko's. She's got a beautiful japanese style house. I was able to meet her family, try to play some Koto and Shamisen, went to different activities such as hiking, sports, tea ceremony, flower parc and try local food. She's so kind, full of energy and loves to spend time with her guests. I was also able to practice my japanese which I was looking forward to coming in Japan.
Thank you so much for this immersive experience Yuko.July 2023
Before I came to Verica homestay to stay for 9 days, I was a bit worried as this was my first homestay experience and my first travelling alone I Japan. After first night I immediately know I had made the right, probably best decision ever to choose Verica for homestay. Yuko san is always very kind, lovely and cheerful. She brings me and other guest for sightseeing around in not just Ashikaga, but as far as Kamagaya to withness the absolutely fantastic summer festival. Best memories ever. Thank you Yuko san for everything.
9日間の滞在中に、さまざまな素晴らしい思い出を作ることができました。観光地へ連れて行ってくれたり、茶道や琴の演奏を拝見させていただいたりしました。
お世話になりました。裕子さん、本当にありがとうございました。

First off, if I could give any more hearts I absolutely would! This has been THE best homestay experience I have had and most likely will have! Yuko is an amazing host. The first week I was there she invited me to join their family skiing trip which was awesome and tons of fun! She also invites you to join various activities and is very proactive in showing you the area as well as meeting locals. She can also teach you Japanese during her free time which has greatly enhanced my time in Japan which in my case was mostly through conversations. She is also fluent in English which helps in many ways as you can imagine. I have visited multiple times and each one has left me with an amazing memory. I plan to visit again before leaving Japan as this homestay was such an incredible positive experience!
