My house has good access from the city center, and it is very convenient from the nearest station to Shibuya, which takes 19 minutes on the Den-en-toshi line and 40 minutes to Yokohama!
The price includes breakfast and a delicious dinner!
Supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, post office, etc. are all around the station!
The nearest supermarket is a minute's from my house.
I've been a homestay host since 1995, and it was a short term trainee and international student acceptance through an agent. And I've been using this site since 2023.
I love interacting with people from various countries through the acceptance of homestays! It's fun to talk with them about each other's cultures, discover things I don't know about, and try to convey Japan more deeply about Japan.
Please refrain from using homestay as a substitute for a cheap hotel.
My husband and I are very friendly, so please ask me anything you don't understand!

【About me and my husband】
First of all, I'm not very good at English! I use a translation app when I contact you.
But don't worry! I have welcomed many guests and I don't think there will be any problems communicating! ^_^
Of course, I'm always available to teach Japanese to anyone who wants to learn it .
I used to have classes on European China Painting and Arita Ware.
I love cooking, and I make not only Japanese food, but also Chinese food, Italian food, Indian curry, and other dishes from various countries.
I've recently started baking bread, so you can eat my homemade bread too! ^_^
I also love traveling and trekking, and on weekdays, after I finish my housework, I usually enjoy yoga and dancing at the gym.
I'm not working, so I can help you whenever you need help!
My husband is a salaryman and works on weekdays. He loves music and reading, and is very knowledgeable about economics. You can talk to him about music and history!
I hope you can gain a deeper understanding of Japan and the Japanese through human interaction that you can't experience on a tour trip. I'm looking forward to meeting you ^_^

Staying with Tae and her husband is a really great experience and I can only recommend this home!
My daughter and I booked both rooms and had great nights in both of them. Sleeping in Room 2 you can open the door(wall) to the living room for the night (the two don’t stay up too long), which gives you direct air from the balcony, so I didn’t even need the fan.
The dinners were also really great: Delicious meals and enough time to talk about basically everything. And the two managed to speak a perfect mixture of English (for me not speaking Japanese) and Japanese (for my daughter to improve hers). Different from what Tae writes in her description, her English is very good and you know it still improves whenever you hear the “pling” of a correct Duolingo lesson.
Whenever we needed some help, Tae answered all our questions with lots of patience - no matter if it was about her home or rules, about spots to visit or about Japanese culture. She is also very interested in other languages and we had a lot of fun trying some new German words.
So if you don’t want to eat out in the evenings and are ok with being home around 6:45 most days, Tae’s is definitely the place you want to stay!!!Host reply

She is very welcoming and her husband is also very kind. Please learn simple phrases in Japanese and you will have the best time here!

Staying with Tae and her husband was one of the best parts of my trip to Japan. Despite not knowing much Japanese, I had no trouble talking with them. Furthermore, they have a lovely home that is clean, they help you with your laundry, and they make amazing home cooked meals every night. I'm happy I picked them for my homestay experience!

I highly recommend this homestay. Tae and Takashi are great and I appreciate all conversations we had. Tae cooks delicious food which all enjoy together at dinner time.Takashi is the master of tea and coffee ceremony. Tae was very patient and helpful when I tried to speak Japanese or had questions. In turn, her English is good, so communication should be easy as long as you speak either Japanese or English :). She has recommendations what to do, in case you are looking for options. You can have social time together, but also time for yourself. Highly recommended!

I stayed for just over a month at Tae and Takahashi’s place and had a great time. My aim was to get as much Japanese speaking practice as possible and they were always happy to accommodate.
The flat is very clean and Tae cooks amazing food and is always keen to try new recipes. We either spent evenings socialising and playing games or the option to retreat and have a quiet evening was always possible.
The flat is also conveniently located to get into town and there are a few nice spots nearby too which Tae and Takahashi are always happy to recommend. It’s worth checking Futokoro-ya nearby for a spiritual Ramen experience ^^
Tae and Takahashi also took me with them on trips to Hakone and Karuizawa which were really fun! I look forward to meeting them again when I come back!

Tae and Takashi were great hosts. I only stayed for 3 nights but wish I stayed for longer. It was a great opportunity to practise more Japanese. But don't worry if you don't know the language, because they both know English very well even though they don't think so. They gave me great recommendations for the area and very delicious dinner every night. Their house was very clean and it was an overall great experience

Staying with Tae and Takashi was great, they're very warm and welcoming people with many stories to share.
Everyday we would sit down together for the dinner that Tae prepared and we would talk about similarities and differences between our cultures, exchange our adventures and discuss interests or just play some games.
Tae provided great recommendations on what's worth visiting in the area, so it's impossible to get bored. I'm very grateful for these two weeks and I cannot wait to visit them again!Host reply

Tae-san has been hosting foreign guests for over 30 years and you can really tell. Staying at hers has been wonderful and everything you could expect if coming to spend time living alongside a Japanese family and especially practicing Japanese. She makes sure to include you in her plans if you so desire, while leaving guests free to use their time as they please. Despite what she says, her English is also very good so don’t be afraid if you’re just beginning. You are expected to follow the rules of their home, but they are few and sensible. I couldn’t recommend her home more and only wish I could have stayed longer Thank you Tae-san, and your whole family!

She was always interested how my day was and gave recommendations for the next day when asked. I highly recommend staying with her while you explore everything west of Tokyo.
