We stayed there for 9 days. The hosts were very polite and helpful and I definitely recommend them. The location is not super central but it has many facilities nearby and it's close to bus lines that go to the city centre and overall not far from it which is great. The house has all the facilities you would need during your stay, including wifi, a/c etc. The only problem is that for male guests, you have to shower outside of the house, which is not ideal during the summer and I imagine it can be problematic during the winter too. Overall would recommend this accommodation especially for short stays when shower is not a problem or for female guests :)
August 2016
The place is nice, near the bus station. The room, in Japanese style, was comfortable.

Enjoyable stay, very kind people, a good place to stay at Kyoto.
June 2016
we stayed for two weeks, it was OK..a bit out of the way but in a nice area, the French Bakery / coffee place down the road is good (not next door!) Jacque the baker is cool, the supermarket next door is good...there're a few eateries nearby but we didn't try them, bus service is a bit long and non existent late, the walk to major routes is sort of ok (weather permitting). Our hosts were nice enough, perhaps a bit too much on top of every move but hey, that's their way and they are getting on. Clean enough (tho I did clean the entire kitchen area - not to my standard and other users seem to not care), quiet -yes, the outdoor shower for the guys is a bit of an 'experience' but acceptable. Would I stay again...maybe, yeah..for ease. Tho there are others nearby I'd check first. Nice people...nice place..nice neighbourhood..

Misae-san and her husband were very nice and helpful, they gave me thorough information and recommended attractions to go to on the map. The location is convenient as it's close to bus stops, a supermarket, a drug market, food, and public bath (though I unfortunately didn't have the time to go); though depending on where the destination the commute time can be rather long. The rooms are on the third floor, so it can take a bit of effort to get a large suitcase up and down, but it only needs to be done once so still ok.

Misae and her husband are nice and very helpfull. The room was very cosy, clean and in a quiet environment.
The only inconvenient is that it is located a bit far from the city center.November 2014
The house very near the bus stop, comfortable for your travel. Mrs Misae and her husband are very kind people and eager to help you, the house is safe and quiet, cosy. But the bathroom in the 1st floor is not convenient in the winter when the room of the guest all on the 2nd and 3rd floor. You have to go stair outside to go to the bathroom.

This guest awarded the host 4 hearts but didn’t leave any comments.

I stayed in Misae and Yasuo´s house for seven days in July 2014, and I truly recommend them and their house. They are very nice, and helpful. Their house is traditional, with tatami and beautiful panels, very well situated, just in front of a bus stop and near the area of touristic interest. I enjoyed my stay with them and I would choose them again to be my hosts.

Wonderful hosts, nice experience - bit far out when it comes to accessing popular tourist areas/sites (certain times of day could take 1 hour or longer to return to homestay). Shower a bit confusing, walls thin (other guests can be loud) but convenient to some popular sites and lots of local shops. Kyoto is fabulous, Misae very friendly and informative.
