I had the most amazing time staying at Sassa's beautiful home for two weeks. It was an absolutely amazing experience. Sassa's home is lovely and everything I could have asked for and more. Sassa herself was incredible - she did everything in her power to make me feel as comfortable as I could and to ensure I had the best time possible! I have coeliac disease and Sassa did her best to accommodate to this need, and succeeded in finding great, gluten free food for me! There was also a couple of times where I needed to go to the local hospital due to burns, and she was there to take me there and translate everything for me. There is honestly no kinder, more generous person and I consider myself lucky to have met her! Sassa was also able to provide a sensational experience of a kimono wearing and tea ceremony, which was absolutely incredible! Would 10/10 recommend Sassa as a host to anyone looking for a once in a life time trip!

I spent a wonderful week at Sassa's home. She lives in a large, comfortable and well equipped house in the north of Kyoto, a bit far from the touristic sites but in a very quiet and pleasant area. Sassa is an adorable and caring host, funny and endearing. Her warm welcome is unique. She taught me a lot about Japanese culture, answered my questions and gave me good advices for my visits. She dropped me off every morning at the subway station and looked for me every evening. She also allowed me to wear a beautiful traditional kimono for a morning: an unforgettable and moving experience. I will keep a magical memory of this city thanks to Sassa! Thank you so much for your welcome!
Sassa is a great host, very friendly and helpful. She cooked us delicious breakfasts and went out of her way to help us understand Japanese culture. We had a lovely room with a wonderful view of the mountains. Just a 10 minute walk to the bus into town.
We enjoyed our stay in Kyoto at Sassa's house. We were staying in the family room which was perfect for us 4. Sassa was a perfect host. She was always helpful and knowledgeable, she always had the best tips to make the best out of our days in Kyoto.
My husband and I had an amazing time at Sassa’s place. She was a great host and always made us laugh. She was kind enough to give us rides to the station and also pick us up. We had a phenomenal time with the Kimono wearing experience she provided us with. We also did the tea ceremony which was privately held for my husband and I. It was the highlight of our trip! If we come back we will definitely stay again at Sassa’s place! Thank you for the amazing experience
Angella is so kind and hospitable, above and beyond what we could reasonably expect. I highly recommend staying with her. The tea ceremony she invited us to was especially memorable. Thank you!
What a wonderfull journey at Sassa's house. Sassa is really kind & cheerful person. We learn a lot of things about Kyoto & Japan thanks to her. We experience Tea ceremony with kimono. If you plan to visit Kyoto, stop at her house !
The Home & my Room was big and comfortable.
We have really enjoyed staying at Sassa's home. The house is clean, equiped and really cosy.
Sassa is nice, and give us many informations about the city and the transports. She brought us at the bus/metro station every morning and picked us up in the evening by car. We also could try japanese calligraphy and it was a very good experience !
We hope all the guests enjoy their stay as we did.

Sassa was a wonderful host who helped me throughout my one week stay at Kyoto. She was very helpful in welcoming me to the city, and provided me assistance in getting around as well. I enjoyed the insightful conversations we had about life in Kyoto, its people, and Japan in general. If you're the type of traveler who craves a more genuine "day-to-day" feel during your stay, I highly recommend looking up Sassa. You won't regret it.
