Sassa’s home is top notch. Modern, clean, and beautiful. A lovely view from the dining area of the mountains. Sass herself is a knowledgeable and helpful host who helped us out frequently even while we were out exploring. Thank you, Sassa-san!
I don't know where to start about Sassa. Well at first i'm a bit late on my review, I stayed at her place with a friend for 4 nights in March.
My words will never be able to make justice to all the kindness she put to make us feel at home. Every morning she took us to the subway station and every night from the subway to her house. Breakfast was always delicious and a great way to start the day. She also helped us a lot while my friend was very sick due to a food intoxication (Thank you again so much Sassa !!!). She's also has great recommandation on how to explore Kyoto. We followed her advice and had the best experience. On top of that, the cultural experience was the best. We chose the tea ceremony and it was one of our best memories.
Her house is located a bit afar from Kyoto's center but the town is wonderful it was really nice to walk around and quiet (and as I say she was always ready to drive us). The bedroom was awesome and had an awesome view of the city. If you want to enjoy Kyoto and meet an awesome person, you have to come here.
So for all your kindness, your help, for all the thing we shared with you Sassa, thank you so much. Our travel in Japan would have not be the same without meeting you and everyday I'm grateful to you for these great memories you help us made. Thank you so much.

Sassa san was an amazing host, I had an unforgettable time in Kyoto thanks to her and would certainly recommend her to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Her house is very comfortable and she was great at giving me a lift to the station or telling me what bus to take based on where I was going for the day. She is a very helpful person, if I had any problems or questions I had she would help me out. My JR pass was going to run out before I needed to take a shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo; so she let me cut my stay short and helped me to find a place in Tokyo so I didn't have to pay the expensive train ticket.
She took me out for some amazing meals and gave me great suggestions of where to visit. She also gave me the opportunity to do some 書道 (Japanese Calligraphy) which was a really enjoyable experience I probably wouldn't have done without her help and will never forget!
Sassa is a fantastic host, very warm and friendly. My family really enjoyed the time we spent with her - including breakfast, a tea ceremony and wearing kimonos to the nearby Shodenji temple.
The house is great, in a quiet street with a beautiful view over the city. It's on the edge of town but Japan's reliable trains and buses mean that it's a great base for exploring Kyoto, plus Sassa helped us organise our days and get around (dropping us at the train station).
We loved spending time with Sassa. Our children study Japanese at school, and our trip was focused on experiencing Japanese culture, not just seeing the sights, so staying with Sassa was perfect.
I had the most amazing time staying at Sassa's beautiful home for two weeks. It was an absolutely amazing experience. Sassa's home is lovely and everything I could have asked for and more. Sassa herself was incredible - she did everything in her power to make me feel as comfortable as I could and to ensure I had the best time possible! I have coeliac disease and Sassa did her best to accommodate to this need, and succeeded in finding great, gluten free food for me! There was also a couple of times where I needed to go to the local hospital due to burns, and she was there to take me there and translate everything for me. There is honestly no kinder, more generous person and I consider myself lucky to have met her! Sassa was also able to provide a sensational experience of a kimono wearing and tea ceremony, which was absolutely incredible! Would 10/10 recommend Sassa as a host to anyone looking for a once in a life time trip!

I spent a wonderful week at Sassa's home. She lives in a large, comfortable and well equipped house in the north of Kyoto, a bit far from the touristic sites but in a very quiet and pleasant area. Sassa is an adorable and caring host, funny and endearing. Her warm welcome is unique. She taught me a lot about Japanese culture, answered my questions and gave me good advices for my visits. She dropped me off every morning at the subway station and looked for me every evening. She also allowed me to wear a beautiful traditional kimono for a morning: an unforgettable and moving experience. I will keep a magical memory of this city thanks to Sassa! Thank you so much for your welcome!
Sassa is a great host, very friendly and helpful. She cooked us delicious breakfasts and went out of her way to help us understand Japanese culture. We had a lovely room with a wonderful view of the mountains. Just a 10 minute walk to the bus into town.
We enjoyed our stay in Kyoto at Sassa's house. We were staying in the family room which was perfect for us 4. Sassa was a perfect host. She was always helpful and knowledgeable, she always had the best tips to make the best out of our days in Kyoto.
My husband and I had an amazing time at Sassa’s place. She was a great host and always made us laugh. She was kind enough to give us rides to the station and also pick us up. We had a phenomenal time with the Kimono wearing experience she provided us with. We also did the tea ceremony which was privately held for my husband and I. It was the highlight of our trip! If we come back we will definitely stay again at Sassa’s place! Thank you for the amazing experience
Angella is so kind and hospitable, above and beyond what we could reasonably expect. I highly recommend staying with her. The tea ceremony she invited us to was especially memorable. Thank you!
