Communication with Yoko was easy. She responded quickly to questions before and during our stay.
Aki is a very enthousiastic host, who took pride in serving us a nice breakfast everyday. We enjoyed talking with Aki and trying out our Japanese. He provided us with useful tips, eg to go to the Hamarykyu gardens, which is a green oasis in the hustle of Tokyo.
The room is clean and comfortable and offered enough space for our luggage.
The location is very quiet for such a big town. Shinjuku is easily reachable by bus (20 minutes) and from there you can travel anywhere, or walk 15 minutes to a subway station. We would love to come back some day.

We have been a sweet and warm stay in Yoko house for 3 nights. Aki san guide me all house facility thoroughly when I first arrived their house. The location is very convenient. Aki san is very humor and Yoko san is very friendly and warm heartful host. We have a comfortable stay in Yoko's house. The environment is very nice and quiet, so we have a good rest after all day travelling. It will be my first choice when we look for a room in Tokyo.

It has been a wonderful experience staying at Yoko and Aki’s house. They are very friendly and even though i couldn’t spend a lot of time with them they always asked me how my day was or if i needed anything. I hope to come back to Japan and visit them again.

Homestay in Yoko house was super nice and comfortable experience.
I stayed here for four nights since I had some schedules in Takadanobaba.
It looks not so close to the middle of Tokyo town but actually it was very easy to get downtown. You just get on a bus in 3-4 minutes from the house, and stay in the bus for about 20min to Shinjuku station where you can go anywhere from. The room I stayed and the bathroom were very clean, and there was good enough to open my suitcases.
There was a fridge, and electric kettle, a table for one person and a chair in your room so you can do something study or work, eating, and make coffee and relax.Since the hosts Yoko and Aki were super polite and warm people, they made my stay to let me feel safe and at home.
I cannot say enough thank you to Yoko and Aki.
I totally recommend here!February 2024
Following others' reviews, I sure did not hesitate to choose Yoko house as my homestay this time. And oh boy, it did not fail my expectations, and it exceeded them as a matter of fact.
Yoko, with her homestay experience as a guest in Toronto (Canada), knows all the things to be prepared when it comes to hosting such as sending prior messages to make sure your trip is a successful one, having hygienic products, cups, even a fridge in your room. She carefully explains and makes sure you understand some little rules of living in the house, and that's it, you can enjoy your time in Tokyo.
Her husband Aki can speak limited English, but he still goes out of his way to communicate with you. He makes delicious yet simple breakfast, tells you stories about countries, jokes about their 2 cats, goes to great lengths when it comes to clean-washed clothes and hangs them with from the inside to make sure the colors won't come off. One time I asked him to wash my coat, he even took time to iron it. Talk about dedication!
And when I forgot my things when I left, Yoko and Aki were really helpful when sending them back to me. While others may write their overall and emotional reviews, I was hit about the little things that I care about like this.
I will definitely come back to Yoko house. Sending my thanks to them!

Yoko and Aki’s home is the perfect place to stay in Tokyo. The location is fantastic, it’s in a very quiet and peaceful area while still being 2 minutes away from a bus that goes straight to Shinjuku station, or you can walk about 10 minutes to the nearest subway station. It’s also 1 minute away from a combini, and 5 minutes away from a super market. All of the rooms in the house are super clean and nicely decorated as well being separated enough so that noise wasn’t ever a problem. I also found the bedrooms to be quite spacious compared to the other places I stayed in Tokyo, so that was nice. However, the best part by far was Yoko and Aki. They are some of the best hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with. Their cooking is delicious, they’re incredibly kind and considerate, Yoko speaks very good English, and they even gave me gifts when I left. Overall it was one of the best home stays I’ve ever done, I would highly recommend it.
