Comfortable and suburban. If you are looking for a slower paced side of Tokyo, Kyoko-san's home could be a great option. Great home-cooked food, laundry done for you, and a quiet, clean space. I enjoyed taking long strolls in the neighborhood and experiencing the slower everyday life away from the hustle and bustle. Kyoko-san will help you with literally anything, so don't be afraid to ask! During my 1 month stay, multiple of the other homestayers were repeat visitors, who all spoke fondly of their visits and return visits to Kyoko-san's homestay. I am already missing my time and hope to be back soon! 色々ありがとうございます!

My stay helped immerse me in Japanese culture and provide a good introduction to it and the country. Also a good place to practise the language and nicely situated with easy access to Shinjuku and Shibuya

During my 4 nights stay with Kyoko san, she taught me about kindness and trust. On the fifth day of leaving, there was a tinge of reluctance as I was already accustomed to our shared breakfast and morning banter.

Great place with good vibes in a good residential area. Would stay again and recommend.

My stay with Kyoko-san was incredible! Her house is very nice and modern, the bed was super comfortable, and the location is fantastic. I really enjoyed chatting with Kyoko-san and she was patient with my beginner Japanese. She is a very kind and caring person, and really goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. She's also very relaxed and easy going, and this really aligned well with my relaxed pace trip. ありがとうございました!

I enjoyed my short stay in Tokyo at Kyoko's place. She knows English to a degree, some Japanese does help a long way. If you ever have trouble locating her like I did, she met up with me midway walking towards her place, provided you shared a method to communicate with her.
Despite no access to the kitchen Kyoko makes breakfast for everyone who are staying over at her rooms, and they taste great and are very filling, and even considered my dislike of cucumbers. She also offers laundry for a fee, so don't hesitate to ask questions. The room I stayed in was very comfortable, that I've passed out a couple of times after taking trips out to Tokyo areas. I would advise future guests to at least separate garbage as most household in Japan do, they are collected the day before the garbage collection schedule. She has a few rooms available for guests, so I did spend some mornings chatting with my roommates. I'd say, just be aware that you will be sharing a space with other roommates, so you will take turns using the toilet and the shower area. You can often catch Kyoko watching television in the evenings, and you can talk to her about your day's adventure.

The short version: It was a bit lonely as it was not like a family home stay and there was no life in the house. Still, I am really thankful for the stay, the good food and the help of Kyouko.

So, as I wrote above, it was pretty lonely and there was not really any life. If others were staying there, I could have a conversation with them from time to time, but except from that I rarely had a real conversation with Kyouko. In the morning she makes good breakfast and most of the time then leaves about 1 or 2 hours after that. In the evening most of the time she was returning a bit late and often didn't eat together with us, but had created a good menu at her other house. She also tries to remember what her guests prefer and what they eat and creates the food based on that. The cost for laundry and dinner are also pretty okay. However, you are, as written, not allowed to use the kitchen including knifes, plates and all that. So if you want to stay for long-term here, you only got a really slim selection of food if you don't want to always go to restaurants. Now, back to a good point, Kyouko is helping you whenever she can. For example, I needed proofreading of Japanese or was searching for banks. Also, she tries to make your stay as comfortable as possible and to give you many opportunities like eating dinner a bit later.
About the rooms; they are really nicely accomondated and you got everything you need. I feel like I had the best room, right in the front and I liked it pretty much. There is a bathroom with a shower and a bathtub which you however aren't allowed to use.
The house is also located near two really well connected metro lines, a lot of supermarkets and has pretty much everything you need within 10 minutes.
Also, I could always ask her in the morning to do laundry if I really needed some clothes.
Kyouko herself is often a bit silent but with the right persons she often talks much. So with this point I also felt, like if you are a normal, boring person, which I guess I am, you don't get that much opportunities. If you ain't got something like you're a beginner and learning Japanese currently or being in the same age as Kyouko, I think you miss the connection to her.
In the end, if you are searching for a real homestay with a family there, this is maybe not the right place.

Kyoko’s place is new and tidy, close to train station and convenient stores etc. The neighbourhood is very quite and safe. Kyoko is a very nice lady, she speaks good English and makes sure you have everything you need. Many guests come back to her home when they visit Japan again. I recommend this host.
