Nicest family ever. Made a generous, delicious breakfast every morning. Entertained me with pleasant conversation. Found me a great little judo dojo (I was looking for one, but didn't know how to find one), and went to the trouble of calling them and arranging for me to take classes there. Such warm, nice people. If I could rate them "six hearts" instead of five, I would.
Das ist eine warmherzige, freundliche und hilfsbereite Familie. Trotz Sprachproblemen meinerseits war es ein super toller Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer ist der wahnsinn und das Frühstück lecker.
Thank you for the great experience and understanding.
I spend a great week at Masas house and definitely recommend them. The room is very cosy and the bed huge. Masas wife prepared delicious breakfast every morning to my time of choice. And not just toast and jam, original Japanese food. She even made Japanese curry for me as I told them I'd love to try. When I had to leave early to a workshop I got a lunch box to go. The house is always clean and Masa and his wife are happy to help you with answering questions about where to go or what to do. They also respect your privacy and don't enter the room during your stay. I could take their bicycle to get to the supermarket and train station which was very convenient. All in all I had a pleasant stay, thank you!
We stayed with Masa and his gorgeous family for one week and we wish it could have been longer!! You couldn't ask for better hosts!! So warm, friendly and generous with their time. We had some amazing experiences during our stay which could have only happened because we were staying here. The breakfasts were delicious, with something traditionally Japanese and different each morning. The bed is huge and really comfortable!! We had such a good time with Masa and his family, they let me cook them a traditional British Sunday Roast dinner for our last night!! We were sad to leave and we really hope that we can keep in touch with them!! Thank you for everything Masa!!
This guest awarded the host 5 hearts but didn’t leave any comments.
I cannot thank this wonderful family enough for the amazing hospitality and openness they possess. I had so much fun interacting and being among the family. Masa-san, Waka-san, and their cute baby girl were all so kind and enjoyable to be with! The breakfast was amazing and I was able to practice my Japanese with the family which was great! I would recommend this host to anyone who wants a unique experience! There is a lot to do and the hospitality was very comfortable. Thank you all for a wonderful experience and I hope to come back another time!
I stayed with Masato for 4 weeks and it was by far much better from what I was expecting. Masato's family is very kind, warm, friendly and helpful (I really felt myself like in my home). They were very talkative and they know of many different places where to go and what to do. Actually, they gave me great hints that only local people know, which for me were much better than touristic atractions. Also Masato has seen and lived enough time in Japan to tell you how life is and to explain about Japanese culture. We had drinks and snacks together, talked about many things and exchanged culture (mine and his) during my breakfast or after arriving back home. His home it's very comfortable, stylish and clean and it is located around 1 hour of Shinjuku, which for me is good, because it's neither close nor far from the city center. There are many conveniences stores nearby and some Izakayas (Japanese style bar). It's also great location if you like hikking and hot springs, because it is 1 hour distance to absolute nature. The neighbourhood it's very quiet and friendly too.
About food, breakfast it's big enough to keep you well all morning and maybe even afternoon. Waka is an excelent cook and she prepares different daily life Japanese food, try it, it's awesome!.
I really suggest to stay with him if you are looking to live Japanese daily life in a quiet, friendly, safe and warm place (Masato and Waka are like young parents to me).
I LOVED THIS HOMESTAY. I spent my first night at Japan at their house at Tachikawa. I'd only spent a night with them but i loved it. They had done a very good job of setting a good image for their country in the eyes of foreigners. Their house was SPOTLESS, so you dont need to worry about staying in a dirty and messy house. They were chatty and warming hosts. They were helpful when we asked them about places to go and food to eat around different places in Japan. They still tried their best to teach us how to reach places even if they havent even been to before which i found them extremely helpful. We ate breakfast and dinner at their place, which were both scrumptious. Waka is a good cook :) I loved her melon banana and milk smoothie the most :) She made Japanese style fried spaghetti for us as breakfast which is different from the typical toast with jam and butter that most hosts will prepare (though i like them as well :D ). Their room was spacious and comfortable. I remembered falling into a deep good sleep right after i threw myself onto the bed. They even had a rule book informing their guests about the do's and dont's. In the book, they had also included travel guides for their guests on restaurants or places of interests around the neighbourhood. For guests who can speak Mandarin/Chinese, good news! Waka could speak good Mandarin/Chinese so you wont have problem communicating with them.
All in all, they were really good hosts and i guarantee that you will have a really good stay at their place :)
Thank you Masato and family for the wonderful hospitality :)
I've booked two weeks in this house, and I have too many things to say about Masato and his beautiful family.
It was amazing!!!!! The best first trip to Tokyo ever. I'm glad that I booked here.
They were helping me with everything: Maps, place to visit, where to eat good food, hot springs, Japanese (they helped me a lot).
I came back yesterday and I already miss Masato his wife and my little sister so much!!!
I will definitely recommend this place to you! So if you are looking for a beautiful place to stay few night this is your house!
P.S. The breakfast every morning was so delicious that for me is 10 times better than many expensive Hotels and is FREE!!
