My home is 23km away from central Nairobi in the Karen-n gong area.We have 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. A balcony with a view of the main road and a far distance the Ngong Forest.A dining room and a kitchen which opens to the garage and also a preferred barbecue area. A spacious living room which opens out to the garden where you could read play hold a party.
We are a multicultural family of 5. the 2 girls one studied in India the other in USA and the 2 boys one in Kenya the other one in China. Now my 3 children are outside the country. 2 in China and one in Italy.
Steve is 23 years who is Kenya .He speaks English and Swahili and enjoys sports, socializing, watching movies, music, gigs, festivals, travel, and learning foreign languages
Am Ruth 52. I speak English and Swahili and enjoys cooking, reading, socializing, travel, baking.Am also ready to teach Swahili.
We are happy and very friendly family. We love and embrace all people.
Additional Info
There is no better way to learn a foreign language than to speak it in everyday situations. Your host Ruth offers qualified language instruction in her native language Swahili. Free of charge. The classes will be given by the family member at the accommodation.

About the Area
Away from Nairobi City
Our house has a view of Karen center in a quiet and safe suburb called Karen view, which has a history of market and gardening and is famous for its nyamachoma(roasted meat)!
We are 23 km from the city center and only 10 minutes drive from the Karen shopping center.
The bus stop is only 5 minutes' walk from the house but we also provide free drop outs to Karen center in the weekends twice a day.

Our house is 10 minutes drive from Karen Center.
The center is full of trendy cafes, bars and restaurants as well as some nice fashion boutiques and specialist shops. A home to few tourist sites like Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe orphanage, Ngong Race course not forgetting for a little safari we are 25 minutes to Nairobi National Park.
The upside to all is that our house is located in a most secure and serene area of Ngong road making it easier to access the public transport very easily.

House Rules
1.Put your dirty clothes in the clothes hamper in the corner of your room. They will be washed within 2-3 days and returned to you.
2.Please do not invite strangers into our home; if you would like to invite a friend over just agree it with me in advance
3.Please clear away any of the dishes that you use, and clean up after yourself
in the kitchen.
4.No alcohol is to be drunk in our house unless you are legal age, which is 19.
At no time is our personal alcohol to be used unless it is offered to you by us.
5.This is a NO SMOKING home. If you must smoke, please do so outside and
ask us for a container to dispose of your cigarettes in.
6.You can always talk to us, the host family. If there is
ever anything that troubles or concerns you, please do speak to us.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
