Nestled in the quiet village of Ghasri with panoramic valley views, but no more than a 5 minute drive to the capital, Victoria, Dar tal-Kaptan offers a warm, sensual and idyllic sanctuary to re-generate and re-invent yourself.
Inhabiting a 350 year old farmhouse with unique architectural features, and converted to a high standard residence offering comfort, charm and relaxation, Dar tal-Kaptan features four themed guest suites, all with their own bathroom, private lounge area and outdoor terraces with fantastic views. Each exquisitely decorated suite has a small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, air-conditioning and fans, wi-fi access, complimentary toiletries, towels and fresh fruit.
This home exudes warmth and sensuality with its eclectic collection of erotic art, sculptures, paintings and books. A full buffet breakfast is included in your room rate.
Your hosts live in the house too, and so do two friendly small dogs. We are both qualified masseurs. Peter is a doctor by profession and Warren teaches English as a foreign language.

About the Area
Ghasri is a sleepy, peaceful, rural village located in the north-west of Gozo. The nucleus of the village radiates outwards around the main Church and piazza. Although it is the smallest village in the Maltese Islands with the least number of inhabitants, Ghasri has a mini-market, a police station, and its own local council. The closest restaurants are just a 5 minute drive away in nearby Gharb or Victoria. Dar tal-Kaptan enjoys panoramic country views from all rooms and a sea-view from the terrace of one of our bedrooms. A tranquil cove and pebble beach can be found at the end of a 20 minute scenic walk from our front door whilst the best sunset on the Island is to be experienced at the foot of Gozo's only lighthouse situated just a 10 minute walk away.
It is advisable to hire a car on Gozo. We can arrange this for you.
There is an hourly local public-bus service to Ghasri which will drop you off three minutes walk away from the guesthouse.
Another way to sightsee is by means of an efficient hop-on/off bus service that drops visitors off at various points of interest, dotted around the Island.
Transport to or from the ferry may booked with us at a discounted fee ( less than a taxi fare)

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
Guests will be asked to make a deposit/part-payment via paypal or banktransfer to Dar tal-Kaptan upon making a reservation to secure booking. Smoking is only allowed outside on the private terraces. Guests may smoke by the pool only if other guests do not object.
The books and DVDs displayed in the library are at your disposal during your stay. Please remember to return them to the library before your departure.
The use of illicit substances is not allowed on the premises.
We expect guests to be tolerant, have an open mind and to be considerate of other guests' religious beliefs, customs, opinions and sexual orientation.
Regarding breakfast, guests with special dietary needs should inform the hosts prior to their arrival.
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate pets as we have two very friendly and docile dogs and a garden cat.
Due to the different levels and stairs of this historic structure, the residence is unsuitable for children or persons with mobility difficulties.

It was more than a five star hotel. We were treated so good in a really friendly place like in heaven. I recomend
it.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
