I'll write half of this review in English and the other half in Spanish since people of both backgrounds would appreciate this homestay. This family is very kind and trustworthy, and their home is right outside the city while still being in the state of Mexico City - that way you get to experience both the urban environment and also see how typical Mexican people live their lives. I was initially scared to visit Mexico for the first time, but this family took great care of me. I could ask for advice when I needed it, and they showed me around parts of the city when they had spare time. They were always very kind and genuine, and Lucy's cooking is amazing! I had an amazing month here and I hope to return to visit again when I can. It would be best to have some knowledge of Spanish before visiting, but practicing with this family would also be a great way to learn. Language immersion is the best way to practice.

What an awesome and amazing family! I stayed 2 weeks with this family and it made the Mexico trip and experience way better. The best part about the trip was staying with the family, practicing Spanish with them, and learning what Mexican culture is about. And not to mention, Lucy is an awesome cook!
I had to take the tram and metro system to get to the city (DF), but to me that was part of the experience and it's easy to figure out the transportation system once you do it a couple times. Also the family helped us out a lot with teaching us how to get around. I enjoyed staying in "Chimaluican" rather than in the city. It's cool to be in an area where there aren't tourist! And plus the local area is really cool and worth exploring. There's lots of food and stores, plus and some awesome running routes and hills for those early morning workouts :).
While I was there I got to check out the pyramids, volcanos, and pretty much the whole city and the surrounding areas, and every night we would come home at the end of the day and hang out with the family, which was the best part. Thanks Lucy and family for everything!
