About the Homestay
We are a family of three - I am a cartoonist and illustrator who draws for various publications both within New Zealand and overseas, I've spent 17 years outside New Zealand travelling and working in various countries. Both my children - Eva 20, and Reuben 18 are studying Architecture. We have a Border Collie dog who loves to be walked down to the nearby beach (15 mins walk) to go for a swim. Our house is 1960's modernist with much art and curios on the walls, we have the most breathtaking beautiful views all over Auckland city and the twin harbours, we are surrounded by a relaxing treed environment. Our house is a 4 minute walk to the lively artistic village of Titirangi, high in the hills above Auckland city, where you can catch a bus down to New Lynn (8 mins) then on to anywhere in Auckland from there by bus or train. Two night minimum stay only, and very long stays can be negotiated.

About the Area
Titirangi is known for its beautiful forested hills, its history, and a quiet and slower pace of life from Auckland city. Many beutiful bush walks and small bays for swimming. It's an area where many artists, craftspeople and architects like to live. Great cafes and restaurants in the village, also a supermarket, wine shop, petrol station, post office. The bus in the village takes you to New Lynn (8 mins) a big transport hub where one can catch a train or bus to anywhere in Auckland.

Clean, polite, independent. Not too long showers. Tidy well in kitchen after use. No smoking inside house. Outside smoking is ok.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 199 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
