Our home is nestled in a quiet bush setting despite only being 20 minutes walk from New Lynn central where you'll find LynMall for shopping, Brickworks for eating out and Reading Cinemas along with one of Auckland's main bus and train transport hubs.
We welcome international students and travellers to our home.
We are a family of three + our friendly dog Lexie. New Lynn is a vibrant multicultural community which is a 20 min drive from the CBD and has the West Coast beaches and Waitakere Ranges on it's doorstep.
We are an easy going and relaxed working family so home is where we chill. We have travelled and lived overseas ourselves so enjoy having people to stay from other countries. We participate in our community and school life with our youngest son starting high school this year.
West is definitely best in Auckland for sure so we're looking forward to sharing it with you :-)
For stays of less than 4 weeks full payment is required on day of arrival. Longer term stays will require one month payment in advance which is due on day of arrival.

About the Area
For many people who travel, getting around Auckland is key...we live on a main bus route with stops within 20 metres of our home or a short 20 minute walk to the New Lynn transport hub means a train will have you in downtown Auckland even quicker.
We are spoilt for choice:
- West Lynn Garden and Butterfly House is no more than 40m from our driveway
- Waitakere Ranges boasts walking tracks that any outdoor person would love:
"Kitekite track" is an easy 1.8km walk over 45 minutes and a great introduction to Waitakere where the walk takes you within a stones throw of Auckland's famous seaside community of Piha Beach. "Hillary track" is a harder 70km walk over 4 days but the scenery and sites are fantastic.

New Lynn and West has so much to offer and there is nothing you shouldn't be able to enjoy or find within a 20km radius of our home.

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

As with many family settings we simply ask that you are considerate and open to discussion.
Payment Method: Please note that we require our guests to pay 50% of the booking total to us in advance of the booking to hold your room (on top of the 15% deposit is paid to Homestay.com)
Cancellation Policy: we ask our guests to give us at least 7 days’ notice for any cancellation. Any cancellation later than this will not be refunded.”

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
