We're Daryl & Jenny & we are a Christian Family and parents to a 24 year old son who is now happily married and we consider ourselves close knit, friendly, outgoing & we enjoy meeting new people. We live in a lovely 1940's character brick & tile 3 bedroom house which is centrally located in the heart of Mt Roskill - an ethnically diverse community of cultures & people. Ideally, we are looking for a Mature Independent person who is clean, tidy, respectful & able to look after themselves. You will have full access to the Kitchen facilities & Laundry. You will be responsible for your own Laundry as I don't wash personal items sorry. You can help yourself to Breakfast (cereals, toast, tea, coffee etc.) and Dinner will be provided by us weekdays so help yourself in the weekends.
We are also spoiled for choice with Asian & Indian Specialty Food Markets a short walk away, a nearby Shopping Centre including lots of Eateries & Cafe's, Banks, Doctors, Dentist, Physio, 24hr Gym & Supermarket within an easy 10 minute walk. There are also 3 big Walking/Running/Cycling Parks 600m away from our home if exercise is your thing.
We are only a 3 minute walk to public Bus transport. The City Centre & Auckland University is just a 25 minute Bus ride & Mt Albert Unitec is also only a 25 minute Bus ride away. Every Tuesday & Friday there is a local Farmers Market offering freshly grown fruits & vegetables & local produce. A great way to meet some of the ethnic community & get delicious foods.
We only ask that there is No Smoking, No Drugs & No Alcohol on the premises & that you treat & respect our home with the same care as we do and we look forward to meeting you soon & sharing our home with us. Enjoy your time in beautiful Auckland as you take in the sights, sounds & culinary experiences we have on our doorstep.

About the Area
Our home is centrally located in the heart of Mt Roskill at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac surrounded by trees & other character homes. Mt Roskill is an ethnically diverse area & has an array of ethnic shops, restaurants & eateries in which Mt.Albert Rd is located on one side & Dominion Rd located on the other. It is a safe neighbourhood & there are plenty of bus stops available with a 2 minute walk. We are spoiled for choice & surrounded on both sides by Shops, Banks, Postal Shop, Doctors, Gym, Supermarkets Butchers, Eateries, Cafe's & within 5 minutes drive to the Southern motorway. Every Tuesday & Friday we have a local Farmers Market with fresh fruits, vegetables & locally grown produce on offer at the Community Centre. The Airport is only a 15 minute drive from home & the City Centre is 7km away along Dominion Rd. The perfect location for anyone wanting to enjoy the Auckland area & not wanting to travel too far in every direction.

House Rules
We are a Christian family & as such, we do not permit smoking or drinking of any alcohol on our premises or friends or Partners staying over. We ideally are looking for a long-term tenant who is Working or a Mature independent person who is self-sufficient & able to cook, do their own laundry & clean up after themselves. We have a fully functional kitchen with a gas stove top & oven and you are welcome to use the kitchen and all kitchen appliances to prepare & cook your meals.
~ Price includes a Single room, unlimited internet, power, gas, water and off-street car parking. Breakfast cereals are provided along with milk, tea, coffee, condiments & bread so feel free to help yourselves. Dinner is provided also.
As we are frequently out around 4 evenings per week, on the occasions we are home having dinner, we welcome you to join our family for a shared meal. We ask that you treat & respect our home with care as we do. We look forward to hosting you & hope you will enjoy your stay with our family.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
