About the Homestay
Dunstan Downs is a working high country Merino sheep station in the heart of the South Island of New Zealand. Tim & Geva farm with their son and his family. Wide open tussock mountains to be explored. Great fishing, walking ,mountain biking and farm animals to meet.. We do not have cell phone coverage, but Wi-Fi is free.Comfortable bed, clean & tidy with a hearty country breakfast.

About the Area
Dunstan Downs is 17 km west of Omarama - a small town famous for it's Gliding. The main highway to Queenstown goes past our gate. Buses will drop you at the gate. Christchurch is 4 hours away, Queenstown is 2 hours away. We are out in the country, no street lights here. Easy travel to many scenic places- Wanaka & Mt Cook .

beautiful setting, delicious breakfast. while i facetimed back home, they were jealous of the views. the temperatures were low, but the bed so comfy. with hosts like geeva and tim, a wonderful way to getaway.
A fun stay on the sheep station - room, hosts, animals and other guests were all great.
Get a and Tim make a great team. The food was Delicious, the bed comfy and the company more than enjoyable and knowledgeable of the area. Loved how they introduce everyone in the room and make us all feel like old friends. Will return when coming back to New Zealand!
For us oldies (70+) it was good and certainly better than expected. The location is fantastic and lovely at the same time. The wagon is very well equipped with everything there to make the stay comfortable. The toilets are camping type, but the bath is amazing. Geva and Tim are very nice, made us very welcome and looked after us during our 4 day stay. This spot is very much recommended for a tranquil stay and close tomthe river with a fishing rod provided and gas bbq to grill the fish you caught. We are thankful to Geva and Tim!
Couldn't ask for a better place to stay in New Zealand. If you want to go sightseeing, then it's best to have a car. But you'll have a wonderful time just to be in the house looking out the window or talking to Tim and Geva. Animals are all adorable, too.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 199 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
