Tiwai Waka Retreat is situated in the prestigious Chatsworth Road of Silverstream, with amazing views onto New Zealand native bush. Watch the Wood Pigeon, Tui & Fan Tail (Tiwai Waka) in their natural habitat, while enjoying your complimentary wine on the expansive decks of the retreat.
From the moment you arrive, your hosts, Donna & Jay will make every effort to ensure your stay with them is a unique experience and provide a wealth of knowledge about the area.
Your breakfast is a complimentary continental which includes fresh orange or tomato juice, teas and plunged coffee, selection of cereals, fresh fruit and yogurt, variety of breads with a full selection of spreads.
Only 30 mins by car from Wellington CBD and 45 mins from Wellington airport. Silverstream is in close proximity to both Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt. Both cities have unique attractions to offer visitors.
Silverstream village is the local hub, which provides several eating establishments, new supermarket, pharmacy and the local cafe / bar, which will provide a memorable night of laughter and song.
Tiwai Waka Retreat offers a motorcycle and child friendly accommodation, with high chair and cot if required.
Private and quiet setting complete with BBQ area set in a native bush setting.
For the motorcycle guest/s you will have a secured lock up for your bike as your hosts is a bike enthusiast as well.
PLEASE NOTE: as a guest you will have complete access and use of the lower level, which is an apartment style accommodation, with another bedroom available if you are travelling as a small group. Please enquire about pricing.

PLEASE NOTE: The tariff is based on the entire lower level (Apartment) This is a two bedroom property complete with self contained kitchenette. Extra guests will be charged at $30.00 per person. The second room is a bunk room and can accommodate x2 people.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
