I am living back in the South Island, in Wanaka in the beautiful Southern Lakes District, which is on the route from the West Coast Glaciers to Queenstown, Stewart Is. and the Fiorland National Park. The apartment is alongside a spring-fed creek and 10 mins walk from the lakefront, cafes and restaurants. I was adopted by a wild kitten last year, named Diego after the Sabre-toothed tiger in the Ice Age movies, so there are just the two of us here.
The apartment is about 15 yrs old so the main room bedroom, which is my guest room, has walk-in wardrobe and en-suite and overlooks the creek and the golf course, which welcomes visitors, is up behind the town. It is a quiet secure, no-exit street with a mixture of retirement houses/ holiday homes, seasonally used houses, commercial accommodation.

About the Area
I live about 1 hours from the International Airport at Queenstown, if you come via the Crown Range road or about 25 mins longer if you travel the low-level road via Cromwell. If travelling by public transport, then it is a 10 min walk up from the bus stop at the lakefront, but the Connections or Yellow airport shuttle bus will drop you at the door.

House Rules
The bookcase in that room has an assortment of older books, some of which have been collected to cover local history of Central Otago and the Gold Rush days. Please treat them carefully.
If you are unexpectedly going to be late back, a text message to me will mean that the stair light is left on for you. I do usually prefer to wait up for my guests to return so that the morning arrangements can be confirmed.
Smoking Rules
Your host is a non-smoker.
Smoking is not allowed.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
