I cannot understate how amazing my experience was with Miriam and Luis Enrique. The house alone is very nice, in a very safe area, great food nearby, easy access to the main bus line (5 min walk), park right outside, spacious room, good water pressure from shower and hot water. Doors are thick so you do NOT have to worry about sounds, house is always kept clean. Washer works great, very good water filter, fridge space, cabinet space, two very cute and loving dogs. All that in mind, you also get to live with two incredible hosts who are extremely helpful and also just all around incredible people. Miriam is a loving mother, VERY funny, excellent cook, and so very patient and helpful with Spanish. Luis Enrique is an awesome guy who gives great tips on staying safe, getting around, nightlife ;), and ways to save money. Also, he speaks great English! Some of my best memories in Lima are just going out to Chifa with these two or going shopping together at the nearby Jockey mall. There were times in Lima where I really needed help or just someone to talk to, and these two were always here for me, truly like my family. We spent Christmas together, watched soccer on TV, even bought lottery tickets together. Sometimes, we got to have wonderful phone calls with the daughter Fiorella, who lives in the Netherlands and speaks great English too. Miriam is quite popular in the neighborhood, so don't be surprised to catch her on the corner talking to neighbors or her sister and brother-in-law who live nearby. Seriously, if you want to learn about life in Lima, live safe, comfortable, and eat well, there is no better place in the city to stay. Thanks for everything you two! Already missing you muchísimo. <3
