About the Area

Our house is located at the foot of Ślęża mountain, but near the centre of a small town, Sobótka. The main strengths of Sobotka are great lush nature, the beauty of the mountain scenery, clean air and a great location. A good system of communication, a short distance from important route Wroclaw - Kudowa and Wroclaw - Jelenia Gora makes Sobotka a tourist attraction for residents of other regions of the country, as well as tourists from abroad (mainly Germany and the Netherlands)

    1. The experience was that of a renter renting a room instead of a family home stay experience.
    2. The local hotel costs less with meal included. The extra travel fare (plane and automobile) I paid to get to Wroclaw was not considered and it was a loss of mine Andrzej did not care to entertain.
    3. Finally, I felt I had not visited a good Polish household but a landlord that would seek any means by which to siphon money from visitors. Aside from feeling had, I gave consolation to myself that I had in fact given to a needy family that prefers cold hard cash over warm hospitality.

    Host reply
Homestay Host Family Andrzej in ,

We are very sorry that the guest did not like to stay with us. We host people from all over the world and no one has ever been so troublesome and intrusive as Mathew. He had trouble getting to us so I offered to pick him up from the airport in my own car. He offered to pay for the ride himself.
The next day he wasn't prepared to pay for his stay, so we postponed it until the following days. Mathew's luggage went missing at the airport, I offered my own slippers and necessary trinkets. It turned out that he needed to wash his things, which we did with pleasure.
Throughout his stay he asked for help in learning Polish, which we did as much as possible. The next day he seemed very happy with the apartment, but still had no money to pay for his stay. Finally on the third day he showed up and announced that he was leaving for Warsaw and would only pay for three nights and generally did not like the stay. After my intervention on Homestay.com he paid the fee for his stay but was surprised that he should pay for the pick up from the airport.
I have the impression that Mathew needed maternal care and a full-time nanny, but this is what we as working people could not offer him.

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
