In the letters he wrote during this phase, the poet did not hide his loneliness.
This is a square full of tradition in Lisbon, scene of remarkable episodes in the history of Portugal. The Gothic ruins of the Carmo Convent poetically recall the earthquake tragedy of 1755. And it was in this lovely square that in the 1974 Carnation Revolution, the population came together to see the government fall.

Located in Largo do Carmo, Chiado, one of the most emblematic and traditional neighborhoods of Lisbon. Located between Bairro Alto and Baixa.
In 1856, with the creation of the literary guild, a club of intellectuals of the time, Chiado became the center of Portuguese Romanticism, obligatory passage point for those who wanted to be known in the city. When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
