I LOVED THIS HOMESTAY. I spent my first night at Japan at their house at Tachikawa. I'd only spent a night with them but i loved it. They had done a very good job of setting a good image for their country in the eyes of foreigners. Their house was SPOTLESS, so you dont need to worry about staying in a dirty and messy house. They were chatty and warming hosts. They were helpful when we asked them about places to go and food to eat around different places in Japan. They still tried their best to teach us how to reach places even if they havent even been to before which i found them extremely helpful. We ate breakfast and dinner at their place, which were both scrumptious. Waka is a good cook :) I loved her melon banana and milk smoothie the most :) She made Japanese style fried spaghetti for us as breakfast which is different from the typical toast with jam and butter that most hosts will prepare (though i like them as well :D ). Their room was spacious and comfortable. I remembered falling into a deep good sleep right after i threw myself onto the bed. They even had a rule book informing their guests about the do's and dont's. In the book, they had also included travel guides for their guests on restaurants or places of interests around the neighbourhood. For guests who can speak Mandarin/Chinese, good news! Waka could speak good Mandarin/Chinese so you wont have problem communicating with them.
All in all, they were really good hosts and i guarantee that you will have a really good stay at their place :)
Thank you Masato and family for the wonderful hospitality :)
Tomoko is the best kind of host you could ever ask for. She is helpful, understanding, kind and friendly. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean. When we arrived her house on the first day, she toured us around her house and taught us how to use the functions in the bathroom (Japanese bathrooms could be quite Hi-Tech/different). She has two lovely cats, Jasmine and Stella, which will be a good news for cats lovers because they are cute and playful. The meals she prepared for us were yummy and I liked the steamed pork and beans sprouts rice (I made up the name myself haha) the most. During our stay at her house, we had a lot of opportunities to chat with her and family. We exchanged a lot of thoughts on different topics and they gave us a lot of insights about Japanese culture. We told them our travel plan and they tried their very best to give us as many information as possible about what to explore, how to reach or what to expect. They helped us a lot and made our short stay in Tokyo wonderful. Tomoko's English proficiency is excellent so we can easily communicate with her without any problems. When we were leaving her house, she even drove us to the station (thank you!). I would definitely return to her house during our next visit to Tokyo!
