The apartment is in Kazanskaja ulitsa in an excellent position as a base for visiting.
i had no problem in communicating with Valentina as I speak russian. Valentina is a very nice lady.
i chose this apartment as from the web i had the impression Valentina only is living there. on arrival i was told that it is a ''communal'' apartment and that 'a' Sergej was also living there. i found that very dishonest and if i knew a had to share with this man toilet and bathroom i would have chosen another homestay.
the common area were not exactly very clean, lets put it this way.
probably for the price i paid this is what i should have expected

Homestay Host Family Valentina in ,

I'm unpleasantly surprised with this review.
My profile clearly states out that my nephew lives in my apartment.
However, he comes very rare as he lives his own life and I do not see him for weeks sometimes.
I'm an old woman and cannot provide a 5 star hotel service as Federica might have expected. However, I do my best for all the places of use to be clean.
Lady who wrote the above review was leaving with tears, gave me hugs several times and assured me to come only to my place next time as she "was totally happy with her stay".
I'm very disappointed with both Federica and her evaluation after all.

Valentina is a very nice lady who is proud of her home. She speaks German and Russian and her son can help with English over the phone.

Her home is conveniently located about 2 blocks from St. Isaac's Catherdral, close to the Metro with 3 lines, and walkable to almost anything in the downtown St. Petersburg area. Grocery store about 2 blocks away and several restaurants nearby. The internet connection is good. Room has a bed and fold out couch. A Microwave and refrigerator is available in the kitchen. Bathroom sharing was not really any problem.

Valentina works and does not provide breakfast, but as mentioned you can stock up on what you need at the store. Available laundry is hand wash and a drying rack. Laundry is available about a mile away. The kitchen and bathroom could be cleaner.

Valentina was helpful and accomodation. She made great, different breakfasts. She gave advice on transport and what to see in the city. I would recommend Valentina and her central apartment to anyone (it is hard to get more in the center of St Petersburg), and hope to be back and visit her again.

Thank you for a great stay.
