Thank you for choosing our location for your stay. Please review and adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a harmonious and enjoyable experience for yourself and others during your visit.
Respecting the Property:
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the property and return all used items to their original locations.
- Immediately report any damages to the host and be ready to compensate for repairs or replacements as needed.
- Refrain from taking any property items without prior permission from the host.
General Homestays Rules:
1.Accuracy of Information:
Provide complete and accurate details during the booking process.
2.Refundable Deposit:
You may be required to provide a 50% refundable deposit to cover potential damages.
3.Payment Terms:
Please complete all payments, including the deposit and additional incurred charges, according to the host’s instructions.
4.Designated Areas:
Guests are permitted only in specific areas; authorization is required for access to restricted areas.
5.Energy Saving:
Please turn off lights, fans, and any water heating devices when they are not needed.
6.Liability of Host:
The host is not responsible for accidents or personal loss during your stay.
7.Health Concerns:
Guests suffering from contagious illnesses must vacate the premises immediately and will not be refunded.
8.Visitor Rules:
Guests are allowed visitors between 8 AM and 10 PM, adhering to all homestay rules.
9.Resolving Disputes:
Any disputes should be brought to the host’s attention; involving law enforcement without consent from the host is discouraged.
10.Behavior:
Guests displaying unacceptable behavior will be asked to leave without a refund.
11.Check-in and Check-out:
Check-in at the homestay is available from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Guests are encouraged to arrive on time, and if they anticipate a delay, they should notify the host in advance. The check-out time is set for 10:00 am.
12.Damage Charges:
Guests are liable for any damages caused during their stay.
13.Personal Belongings:
All personal items must be taken with you upon departure.
13.Privacy Matters:
- Respect the privacy of the host and fellow guests, avoiding unauthorized entry into private spaces and maintaining cleanliness in communal areas.
14.Guests and Visitations:
- Do not bring additional people onto the premises without previous consent from the host.
- Ensure your visitors comply with all homestay rules.
15.Quiet Hours:
Quiet Hours: From 11:30 PM to 5:00 am, quiet hours are observed to ensure peace for all at Virunga homestay.
16.Please make sure to carry a key if you'll be out late, and on your return, we kindly ask that you keep noise to a minimum to respect the sleep of other guests.
16.Smoking Guidelines:
- Smoking is prohibited inside the homestay. Please use designated areas outside for smoking and responsibly discard all cigarette butts.
17.Booking and Contact Procedures:
- Reserve your stay by contacting the host directly to confirm availability and payment of a 15% booking fee upon reservation. Finalize all payments on arrival as indicated by the host.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
