Karen and her son Jamie are lovely people and have helped me out a lot throughout my stay in Edinburgh for eight nights.
Karen took me out for a drive around the city on the first day I arrived and even took me to the beach where I could take great photos. She cooked warm full Scottish breakfast on Sunday and was planning for barbecue on one of the days. Together with warm croissants and pastries she cooked bacons, eggs and everyday the breakfast was different. Room was beautifully done and clean with shortbreads and tea / coffee to drink whenever you wanted. Karen also made sure that I was warm enough to stay out in the evening by letting me use her own jumpers and blankets. Jamie brought me cakes for two nights and Karen cooked dinner one day which wasn’t even included in the package (since I had nothing to eat). They are very nice, warm-hearted, local people who love Scotland. I highly recommend staying with Karen.
Karen was very friendly and helped a lot with what to do and see when in Edinburgh. And the breakfast was lovely, and it was brought to my room, which was greatly appreciated
I had a wonderful time with Karen and Jamie and felt very welcome from the first day on. My room and the bathroom had everything I needed for my time in Edinburgh, it was always clean and very comfortable. I even got cooked breakfast on Sunday and whenever I needed help or had a question, they were there for me. I can highly recommend staying at Karen's house and I would certainly do it again.
Karen has been an exquisite host; everything was clean +++, good breakfast and so agreable. Thank you Karen and Jamie !
Karen is a fantastic host : helpful, nice and generous. Her boy is so sweet. The room was perfect : clean, modern, view on the garden and quiet. Bus 5 very convenient to go to the attractions in the city. The house is close to the seaside. I recommand this room.
Thank you Karen.
Merci Karen.
I've been in Karens Home together wir my daughter for four nights. It was a really great time and if we come back to Edinburgh we would stay in Karens home again. Karen and her son are very friendly and we had a lot of fun with them. Our room was tidy and clean, the beds are really comfortable!!! After all - we would go there again.....
Karen has been very kind and patient (we don't speak a good English..). Our room was lovely, quiet and very clean. The shared bathroom wasn't a problem. Bus n.5 from and to the centre stops just near the house. Thank you.
Karen è stata molto gentile e paziente (parliamo poco l'Inglese).
I have been living in Edinburgh for one week and it was great! Actually it is the best place I have ever been to.
Karen and her son Jamie are really likeable and friendly people.
It was the first time I travelled on my own and I felt so well because of them that I could have been there for months.
The house which is really beautyful, is not far away from the center of the city and the bus station is next to the house.
Finally I would like to thank you Karen and Jamie for the wonderful week and all you have done for me!
I've been living with Karen for one semester during my studies at the University of Edinburgh. As my lectures were at King's Buildings, it only took my 20 min to get to university by bus. The area around the house is quiet and I even could see Arthur's when looking out of the window.
Karen is a really nice host who helps whenever she can. In the first days she showed me the neighboorhood by car, which was great the get acquainted with the local circumstances. Every Sunday she even cooked a full scottish breakfast which has always been delicious.
I really enjoyed my time at Karen's and I can only recommend her.
