Claudette and I live in the beautiful seaside village of Gordon's Bay, surrounded by mountains, wine farms, and the ocean. Our lovely home is about 30 minutes drive from Cape Town International Airport, and about an hour from Cape Town city center. A double bedroom with an ensuite awaits the visitor, coupled with great home cooked meals, as per guests request. The main lounge, and dining room looks out over a 9 hole golf course, toward magnificent mountains. The gardens come alive with a large selection of wild birds. A separate lounge and reading room with WiFi access, leads into an enclosed Secret Garden.
We love going for drives on Africa's most beautiful scenic coastal drive, where one can see the southern right whales during their winter visit, dolphins, Cape fur seals, penguin colonies, and numerous sea birds. Bird watching and hiking are among the other favourite pastimes.
We are surrounded by vineyards where wine tasting is very popular, platters of our local cheese varieties, and chocolates are available, as well. Beer tasting is another enjoyable past time with visitors.
Water sport types are in abundance, such as surfing, kite surfing, body boarding, wave riding, and swimming at well protected areas, including world class blue flag status beaches.
About 20 kilometers from our home is one of the most diverse fauna and flora areas in the world, and big 5 game parks within 4 hours drive.
We speak English at home, and I can speak the local Afrikaans language when required.

About the Area
Our home is located in a quiet area, bordering a 9 hole golf course. We are within walking distance from a large supermarket, 15 minutes walking distance to our main beach, restaurants, and little shops. We are 10 mins from the railway station, about 30 minutes from the International airport. Cheap long term car hire is available, and metered taxis can be called at any time.
We are 15 minutes from 2 world class hospitals and medical facilities.

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
