We are a family of 4. We have 2 sons, both having completed their university degrees and are now working in their chosen careers. They are currently 26 and 24 years old. They both live away from home but are around often for a meal, a chat or to watch sport with us.
My husband and I are entrepreneurs and work largely from home. We live in the beautiful suburb of Rondebosch, which is very central. The City Centre is 10 to 15 minutes away by car, the airport about the same in the opposite direction and our closest shopping mall is Cavendish in Claremont (about 3.5km away).
We are home loving people but enjoy eating out at new restaurants or frequenting one of our favorite coffee shops. We have one cat who is pretty independent!
We live in a double story home. Our guest accommodation is upstairs. Both rooms are large and have a double bed and plenty of desk space. The north facing room has stunning views of the mountain. The other room looks out over greenery and the one window is east facing which allows the early morning light to filter in. Both rooms have ceiling fans, and heaters for the winter months. There is one full bathroom for guest use upstairs which has a bath and a shower and another one downstairs with just a shower .
Outside we have a pool and a braai area. We love the indoor/outdoor feel and are often found enjoying tea on the front verandah. We all speak English but we are curious to try other languages. We have friends all over the world!
We are a 'field hockey family' with both our sons having played competitively.

About the Area
Our home is situated in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town behind Table Mountain. Our neighborhood is around one of the prestigious private schools in Cape Town, Bishops Diocesan College. You will always find people walking their dogs, or runners and cyclists exercising in the area.
We are about 14km from the city, 14km from the airport and 3.5km from the shopping centres in Claremont. The beaches are about 20 to 25 minutes drive away (Muizenberg or Camps Bay).
Rondebosch train station is about 2km away we all use Uber to get around.

House Rules
Respect our home, our friends and family and our cat. We believe in open communication to avoid issues.
Your stay with us is on a bed and light breakfast basis (cereal/fruit/toast). Sadly - no self-catering. There are ample wonderful coffee shops and restaurants in the area to enjoy. If you would like to join us for dinner, we can negotiate an additional cost per meal/per stay.

Vanessa was amazing, so helpful and she went above and beyond to help. She was like a second mum to my boys and the house and facilities were perfect.

Thanks for your kind words. Fortunately I have 2 sons of my own so being a 'second mum' was just the normal thing to do. I hope they are happy in their apartment at last!

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
