Mercedes es una persona muy acogedora y tranquila. El barrio es maravilloso, vale la pena visitarlo. Lo recomiendo.
Great place for stay in Granada old center. You can visit all sights by feet. Also you can rest on the roof and look on Granada because the house situated on hillside. There is a kitchen you can use that has all necessary stuff. Mercedes and her family are kind and friendly, ready to help if you need. If you stay here more than week, you can use laundry. We like this month in Mercedes’s home, thanks!
If you are an independent traveler and on a budget this is the place for you. The location is fantastic so close to Alhambra uphill ofcourse. The rooftop terrace was great the place is a little rustic but clean. Thanks Mercedes.
Mercedes' house is very near to Alhambra and Plaza Nueva which is usually the meeting point for everything. Not easy to find the first time, but once you are there, u can easily walk to anywhere. The house was quiet and spacious. Overall it was a good stay.
I did not come to Spain to have a N.A. experience so in that way Mercedes' place was great. It's authentic old Granada and shows its age in great ways - lots of atmosphere and history. Neighbourhood is peaceful and beautiful residential. Some basic room things could be improved: old worn ( but clean) sheet could be replaced, hot water in bedroom could be hooked up. Lots of hot water in communal shower though. Walls were thicker, better insulated than newer buildings so my room was quiet even with neighbours chatting. I did not realize that there were also other rooms being rented in the house. At the time there were a few young Americans staying for longer periods. In that way it felt a bit like a uni dorm, but Mercedes seems to keep clear order in the house. I was out alot during the day so didn't see her much. She was warm and helpful but left me on my own too. Perhaps because of lack of language on both our parts we couldn't chat but she seemed quite friendly. Short three days but an interesting time!
My stay at Mercedes house was very satisfactory, the family is very nice and the place is very close to everything you need for your stay in Granada. I highly recommend the accommodation of Mercedes and her family.
Very nice location. The terrace is for sure a big plus. You oversee the whole city and have a nice view on the siera nevada. It is at just 10 minutes of the cathedral. Realjo is a very nice district with bars, pubs and all you need. Mercedes is helpful with anything you ask her. Living together was nice and I had a lot of space for myself. I would definetely recommend. Especially if you are an independent traveler and want some privacy. Great stay!
Mercedes is a very nice host as well as her daughter, we really liked the place it's close to Alhambra and also 15-20 minutes to Granada ' center , the only thing I would recommend is if the bad can be changed , in the room where there was two rooms , one of them is in a bad shape and needs to be replaced, rather than that we definitely recommend this host. Thank you Mercedes and Lara.
We thoroughly enjoyed our month at Mercedes. A truly quaint Spanish style house. Helpful host when needed and one of the best locations in Granada, especially at the price. As put on the profile page it truly is within walking distance to the tourist attractions. Close by, many good tapas bars, small supermarkets, bread shops, pharmacy etc and even an organic shop. Easy walk to the city center. Very god internet. Hope to stay again, thank you Mercedes.
It depends what you are looking for - if you're looking for a place to rent, and to live with local Spaniards, this is a great choice. A more independent style of homestay where the hosts spoke mainly Spanish, and you would rarely see them. I personally didn't mind that, as I liked the independence as it meant I could come and go as I please.
