I came to Granada to work for 2 weeks at an institute nearby and this was a great choice. The room I staid in was spacious and with a private bathroom, the bed very comfortable and a desk was installed so that I could have a studying corner. Even though I did not meet Maria Theresa too often as she went on a trip, she gave me a very good impression. I got to know her sons a little bit and they were both very nice and helpful and made me feel very comfortable at their place. The family is really well learned in terms of languages; English and French were both used to communicate with me (I do not speak Spanish). I had a free use of the kitchen and washing machine (which I used pretty often) and access to all the main rooms of the flat. The flat is minutes away from Camino de ronda and Calle Arabial and there are many shops in the neighborhood (from Mercadona to El Corte Ingles). The center is a bit further but easily reachable by feet or bus. I would definitely recommend the place of Maria for a stay over.
I had a great stay in Granada at Maria Teresa's flat! It's a lovely flat with a nice balcony and views of the Alhambra, and the room was perfect - very comfortable, air conditioned, wifi and private bathroom. All was very clean and comfortable and although I was sad not to meet Maria Teresa herself, I was well looked after by her son and family friends who were very welcoming, friendly and helpful with whatever queries I had about Granada, and gave me maps and information about what to see and do. The apartment is well located in a safe, quiet residential part of the city, and easy walking distance of all the main sites - there are buses too but it was easy to walk everywhere (about 20 mins to the centre)! The shared pool was nice too, great for a morning swim before the heat of the day kicked in! Thanks Maria Teresa and family for a brilliant stay in your home!
Maria Teresa was very helpful our first day helping us figure out the busses and she obtained for us tickets to a local flamenco performance that was absolutely great. We could not have done either by ourselves, the bus system being rather confusing and quite a long walk.
Housekeeping was so careless as to be off-putting.
My stay at Maria's was incredible. Felt comfortably at home in her flat. The first few days she helped me get acclimated to the city of Granada. Touring me through the city centre and some very unique sights that only locals get the chance to see.
I spent a few extra days and travelled with the family to their Vacation home in Alumñécar, wow what a place.
Spent time with Maria's son Oliver and his friends. They took me to check out the Moorish tea houses. Also experienced some really interesting parts of the Semana Santa weekend with them.
I felt part of the family during my stay.
Will miss them all.
The perfect homestay! She picked me up from the airport and soon after I settled down in her big apartment (its neat and comes with great view), we walked all the way to Albaicín (20mins away) to see the sunset and the view of Alhambra. She also gave me tips of dos and donts in Granada. Anyone coming to Granada I do recommend Maria and her sons.
I enjoyed staying here, the family was welcoming and allowed the full use of the facilities in their apartment. The walk into the city, through the university, was very pleasant.
Maria and her family are warm and welcoming. I have my own room and bathroom with internet and washing facilities. The bus is 5 minutes away but I preferred to walk 20 minutes into the centre of the city. Maria showed me where the banks, shops, centre of city are located and her children (adults) speak some English. Highly recommended.
My stay in Granada was absolutely wonderful!! I felt like part of the family during my entire stay. When several family members took a trip to their vacation house in Almunecar, they brought me along. When a friend came to visit from Barcelona, they took him in and fed him for his entire stay. They showed me parts of the city I would never have found on my own - everything from a free movie theatre to wonderful parks and gardens - and told me the best ways to get to all the rest (don´t take the bus. It´s such a beautiful walk). During mealtimes, I ate with the family; when I was hungry, or had to leave early, there was always plenty of food in the fridge, and fruit to bring along in my bag.
The flat is quite large, tidy, and quiet. It´s a quick walk away from the city center, but not so close that noise is a problem. It´s also right next to a wonderful university, if you ever need a place to read or study. I had a good-sized room to myself, and a private bathroom. Actually, I shared the room with the family cat after the first week - she´s quite the charmer. Thank you to her and to the entire family for an unforgettable stay! If you´re thinking of staying in Granada, you really must stay here!
