I live in a typical Madrid house from the beginning of the 20th century completely renovated, the house is completely exterior with great light since it has balconies facing the street.
I have available a room with a double bed, wardrobe and a table.
Your room and mine are separated by the living room, so you will enjoy privacy.
The kitchen is fully equipped (washing machine, dishwasher, microwave...)
I have individual natural gas heating and air conditioning.
I have lived and worked in different countries, I am a sociable person and I like to meet people of different nationalities.
I speak English and French.
I live in a typical ¨madrileña¨ house which building dated from the beginning of the XX century, ; it is all new, modern and with plenty of natural light thanks to the several balconies in the rooms.
A double room with one bed, built in closet and a table. (towels and bed sheet provided)

My place is located in the downtown area, in Lavapiés´neighborhood. Here you will be able to find plenty of cultural and social activities/events, bars and restaurants. You are within walk-in distance from two main parks here: El Retiro and El botanico (botanical garden), museums (Prado, Thyssem, Reina Sofia).
And you are planning in going to other cities like Toledo, Barcelona, Seville…the Atocha Train Station is 5 minutes away.
There are two subway stations you can take from here: Lavapiés (Line 3) and Antón Martín (Line 1)
I have lived and worked in several countries. I love to meet people from other places, learn from their cultures and be able to share my own one.

You can enjoy the parks (Withdrawal, Botanical) museums (Prado, Thyssen, Reina Sofia) Atocha train station, with high-speed trains to Toledo, Barcelona, Sevilla ... 5 minutes walk.

Rocio was a wonderful host. Despite her busy schedule, she was available for questions and made sure I would enjoy the best of Madrid. The location is very convenient, and it was easier to walk to Prado museum than take the metro. A 24hr Carrefour stou

i liked staying with rocio at first, but we had a misunderstanding about payment method, and i found that she became quite harsh and unforgiving with me, despite my every effort to maintain good relations, and she continued to be cold even after my payment went through. i have definitely left with a sad feeling in my heart, and likely wouldn't want to stay with her again

Great for a short stay in the city as it's very close to the city centre.
I was away most of the time so didn't get to talk to Rocio but she gave me a very warm welcome :) I felt comfortable and slept really well. Good mini break.Host reply

I had a good time in Madrid and also to short :) The room is very comfortable and Rocio aß a host ist very friendly and warm-hearted. The location is also nice for trips in any direction to the city. I really liked it and could just walk to the most spots. Thanks for the stay!

I had a great stay with Rocío in Madrid. The location is walking distance from all the places I wanted to visit and the room was clean, large window and fresh air, whilst being dark and good for sleeping in the evenings. Rocío was super responsive, helpful with suggestions and a really friendly, kind person.

Disfruté mi estancia en la casa de Rocio. El piso es precioso con una excelente ubicación. No cogí el metro porque podías caminar muy facilmente hacia y dentro del centro de Madrid. Tuvimos buenas charlas con Rocio, especialmente sobre la cultura española. No dudaré en quedarme en la casa Rocio cuando regresaré a Madrid!

Rocío was a superb host and I really enjoyed my stay. She welcomed me into her home and I really felt at home there. She had great advice about things in the area and we enjoyed some great conversation. She was VERY patient and supportive with my struggling Spanish, which I really appreciated. Location is very close to the Lavapiés station and also close to Antón Martín. A few grocery stores very close and bars and restaurants everywhere.
It was unfortunately a short stay of only two weeks but the next time I have a chance to be in Madrid for an extended period of time, I hope her place is available. I would gladly stay with Rocío again!

Rocio is a super friendly and welcoming person. I loved staying at her flat and having talks with her. Also, she can share good recommendations for your stay in Madrid.
The apartment is clean and cozy. The neighborhood is nice and central, with lots of restaurants and bars as well as a close supermarket.
Highly recommend to book your stay at Rocios place :)

Not recommended, especially for long stays. Even considering that every stay is a subjective experience, there are things that are not. The obsession to save money in every way doesn't justify and explain the request of 700€ for a room per month (already discounted) and, according to Rocio, EVEN NOT SO MUCH money to pay to stay there, which, according to honest landlords of Madrid, is definitely not true, but crazy.
Rocio asked a rent of 700€ per month but every appliance needed to be off and as little used as possibile:
- Turned me off the lights of the dining room and rolled up the shutters (just to save 10 minutes of light energy);
- Very strict about washing machine and dishwasher (basically allowed only in the cheapest time slots = the weekends);
- Told me I'm disrespectful because I turned up the heating from 19°C to 21°C without asking, AFTER I said more than one time that it was cold if she kept the heating on only few hours and to a minimum. I also asked for a blanket and she simply said she had none more.February 2020
Un grand merci à Rocio pour son accueil et son hospitalité. Son appartement est très propre et très bien situé pour visiter le centre de Madrid à pied. Une adresse à recommander pour vos prochains voyages.
How do I book?

When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
