BESPOKE PRACTICAL RESIDENTIAL SPANISH COURSES in a Spanish home in the Guadarrama National Park ( Segovia ).

SPANISH LANGUAGE IMMERSION in the beautiful village of Navafría.

PHILOSOPHY
The seeds of the Navafria Homestay project were planned after twenty years of loving dedication to teaching. Along with my training and experience teaching Spanish in Spain, I also spent several years teaching it as a foreign language at Duke University in the U.S.A, and Belgrade (Serbia). I feel really excited to have the opportunity to run a language inmersion course which involves living with a family over a period of 7- 20 days in July.

“Navafría Homestay Spanish course” is an immersion experience which be will held in my house.
Navafría is located in the heart of Segovia, in the National Park of Guadarrama, just 20 minutes from the city of Segovia by car, and 35 minutes from Madrid by train. It is a small and beautiful mountain village with around 500 inhabitants in the summer. Navafria has a natural pool surrounded by pine forests, next to a waterfall, a spa and indoor pool, outdoor mountain wáter pool, with cafe. It is possible to organise horseback riding, and walking and hiking in the open countryside. It also has a 24 hour Health Center, a pharmacy, two small supermarkets, and several small restaurants.
The secluded location is unrivalled in its natural beauty, making it an ideal place to spend the summer in the freshness of mountain breezes, away from the heat of the capital. It is a novel way to experience Spanish life, and far from the normal coastal destinations.

Navafria Homestay Spanish Course focuses on practical ways to foster language learning in a relaxed and fun way. By integrating content and language: doing different kinds of activities in Spanish, and preparing vocabulary for each beforehand, it is easier to feel more confident and gain fluency, than in a standard “school” approach.
We make visits to cultural places such as Segovia, Pedraza and other surrounding historical villages as part of the course.

Any level of Spanish can be taught, for any subject. The course plan will depend on your aims and requirements, and we can make this together once you have contacted me.

Possible work units for Spanish General conversation:
Learning how to make typical Spanish dishes: Spanish cooking classes and recipes
Going Shopping
Ordering meals in restaurants and bars
Hiking in the mountains, nearby towns and Segovia
Participating in a creative workshops (art and craft, games, making stories…)
The activities will take place along the day

We are four members family, a couple and son of ten years old, and a médium size loving dog.
We living with the guests in our home and we are available to offer guidance, assistance and food during the guest stay.
