Stay with Maribel and Hector in our house in Salamanca. We have 3 Rooms, 1 Single and 1 Double and 1 Double or Triple, according to necessities. We have TV and Fridge, Wardrobe for clothes, Table, Desk and Lamp, and Mirror.
It is at a distance of 0 minutes from Plaza Espana and 4 minutes from the Plaza Mayor walking, there bus lines 0 minutes from home. There is also a large park 2 minutes from the house called Alamedilla, where you can rent bicycles and many more activities.
My family costs my son, who is a student in the university of economics, and speaks English and I that dedicate to the Lodging and in some occasions I have other works, like the one of Esteticien, Stylist and Clothing Manufacture. I dedicated to the lodging 24 years ago, less 5 years of interval, than I lived in the Canary Islands, and I was dedicated to other offices ....
We have many interests; Sports: Swimming, Biking and Soccer and others, photography, watching movies, cooking, socializing, theater, painting, music, concerts, festivals, dancing, learning languages, nature, fashion design, television, board games, And gardening.
Our city is Salamanca in Spain, a small, quiet and very beautiful city, famous for its University and its Plaza Mayor ....
I dedicate myself to hosting students for 24 years, you will eat very well, we like to eat very well and to know other culinary cultures.

The apartment has an excellent location. 5 minutes to Plaza Mayor and only less than 300 meters from the San Boal campus of Salamanca University where most of the international courses took place, a pleasant surprise to me.
The aparment was clean. The room I had was quiet but did not have sunshine as it faced an interior yard. The shared bathroom was well maintained. The hostess, Maribel, was friendly. I liked my stay since I was the only guest for most of the two weeks.
The rent did not include Wifi use, which was my oversight during booking.
The simple breakfast was true to its name. The cold coffee provided tasted awful after re-heating in microwave oven. Tenans are supposed to use microwave oven, not the stove, to make tea. So I usu. just had a tea with cornflakes and milk and then proceeded to the cosy little cafe (Damajuana) in font for a real coffee and tortilla or tapas.
Maribel told me not to take shower after midnight, But this rule did not seem to apply to her.
The long corridor in the apt was dark even during the day as it has no windows. Maribel was upset when I left the corridor lights on even during my use of the toilet. She would remark that electricity was expensive in Spain. So being a considerate person, I often fumbled through the corridor in the dark to get to bathroom or to my room, as the switches for lights are not well located on the corridor wall. It took some getting used to, but not a major issue.
I am grateful to Maribel for answering some of my queries about Spanish language and culture.
By the way, I highly recommend the Damajuana cafe just opposite the apt. Both the owner named Nierves and its customers, esp one named Xarvi, were extremely friendly and ready to engage in conversaton with a me.
In sum, the homestay with Maribel, courses in Salamanca Uni and chats in Damajuana Cafe combined to have given me a great experience of learning Spanish language and culture in Salamanca.Regrettably, I was falsely accused of damaging the aquarium and plants. I did not touch her aquarium or plants. The host was mistaken and confused on the entire matter.

First of all I do not know how a person who has had a bad behavior is able to leave a comment to be answered, I did not want to say anything and let it pass but seen his great comment and his great complaints, which I was already imagining myself that would have to do something more and so. Although at first it seems a nice person, nice and open. I have two negative things about him.
1º He tried to surpass me. And the next day he wanted us to go out for a drink and I refused, because I already saw that I did not like him as a person. After that I slept with my lockable room.
After that I changed my behavior with him and was more distant, and stopped talking with the more than essential, he might seem to be annoyed by the lights but it was not by the lights.
2nd Day to leave, removed the sand from the aquarium and ripped off the plants.
I said goodbye to him the day before and gave him his hand correctly, I did not give him two kisses as I usually do to most people because he broke that trust with his bad behavior, but I said goodbye and good trip when I left the door his last day, he approached to give me two kisses after plucking the plants in the aquarium that I had even noticed, is a cynic. (Although he says of himself in his text that he is a considered person).

* Breakfast: You did not tell me your problem with coffee and you chose the next day, you took corn cereal because it was what you chose, there were chocolate, also biscuits of two types and bread and chocolate to sprinkle, butter and jam.
* If I said that you could not shower after 24:00 because it annoys the other students, but if you had to do it sometime you asked me for permission that if it is ever without getting used to it would be no problem. I showered one day only at 24:30 because I had to do it, yes, like you if you had needed someone else.
*The light ; Just explain once to the subject of light, and I tell all people, again I told you that if you were to enter the kitchen to turn it off or leave it on because you left it on and there was nobody in the kitchen , and nothing more.
* The darkness of the long corridor, that would be in the morning when there is still no light of day and I do not light the false window light or the humidor entrance that is almost all afternoon and some of the night lit, even so you had a switch in the hallway next to your door and more switches to the service, the room. In the salon the aquarium is on from 16 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the morning.
There were 3 switches for the hallway one at the entrance, another one at the half that was next to your door and another at the exit of the hall. Two switches for the entrance and for the hall are two, but one is damaged but the light of the aquarium is lit almost all day. This is outrageous that I have to explain how many switches there in my house because you're going from saying that everything is dark. People will think I live in a cave.

You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
