Hello my name is Ms Harshini Fernandocurrently reading a PhD in Tourism with 12 years experience in the hotel industry and i have my homestay in Dehiwela right at the junction and therefore it is very easy access (5 mts) to anything and everything namely the Train station, Bus station, Market, Grocery shops, Super Stores (Arpico, Laugh Super Centre) Shopping malls (Fashion Bug, Nolimit, Ladyline Kandy's) Food joints (Dominos, KFC, Pizza Hut, Malay Restaurant) Temples Mosque Churches, International Schools, Beach, Zoo, Doctor etc.To the famous Mount Lavinia hotel, it would take only 15 mts by tuk tuk or you can even walk to the beach.Within 20 mts you can reach Colombo Fort by bus which will cost you only Rs 10 per person. Direct buses to every location namely Galle, Matara, Trincomalie, Kandy etc. Takes 1 hour to Katunayeka Airport.
I have a super luxury 3- bed room apartment with 2 bath rooms. My apartment is on the 3rd and 4th floors and 5th floor is a beautiful roof top over looking the Indian ocean with plants pond with fish and water fall Barbaque area benches and a garden unbrella set etc.
On the bottom floor is the car park.
On the 3rd floor, i have the Sitting and Dinning with an open pantry (fully equipped with fridge 4 burner cooker toaster micro wave kitchen utenziils etc. Sitting area consists of a settee set with a large flat screen TV and a Home Theatre System.
Dinning area consists of a round table which could accommodate 5 persons.
A Washing machine is available for your washing.
All roms have double beds, floor carpets, chest of drawers a large miror spongy pillows quilts Bed side lamps TV with Air Conditioning etc.
Bathrooms are all with modern fittings, shower cubicles with hot water.
Fresh cotton clean linen and towels will be provided.
House is situated in a highly residential area with high security and the most beautiful thing is from the sitting dinning and from the master bed room you see the Indian ocean.

About the Area
My apartment is located on the south of Colombo and the area is Dehiwela just 5 mts away from the Colombo city limits.
I am situated right at the junction just 5 blocks away from the fly over at the junction.
We are just 20 mts away from the main Colombo city centre and the buas station and the train station (just Rs 10 p.p) is just 5 mts walk away from my house.
Very easy access to any thing and everything namely restaurents, famous Mount Lavinia Hotel, Super centres, Shopping malls Inter National Schools, Temples/Mosque,Churches etc.

House Rules
No pets are allowed. House is kept clean and expect the same from visitors. If Air Conditioning is used i will be charging Rs 750 per room for 1 night as Electricity in Sri Lanka is v v expensive.You will be given a set of keys and therefore any time you can go out or enter the house.
Remember to switch off all fans lights AC when you are not using please.

Harshi's apartment is clean and conveniently located for trains and buses into town. The beach is 15 minutes away on foot. She fed me copious amounts of Western style food and was always available for help and advice. Recommended.

This was the best Homestay experience we have had. From the moment we arrived to be welcomed by an ever cheerful Harshi as guests until we left as friends we had fun. Harshi is a generous and gracious hostess and a fantastic cook. We shared wonderful home cooked breakfasts and spent a great night at a beach restaurant with Harshi's friends. Thanks for taking us to lunch at Mt Lavinia Hotel. I hope we see you in Australia soon.

An exelent stay with Harshi, she was so helpful and an exelent hostess. We liked the situation of her homestay as it was near the railway station, so we could easily get into the Center of Colombo and travel south.

Harshini is a gracious, friendly and relaxed host who goes out of her way to make one feel at home. She's able to arrange local transport and/or give directions to local points of interest, and she cooks delicious meals that do not scrimp on portion size. Highly recommended.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
