Halgolla Plantation Home (HPH) is a paradise for lovers of nature and those seeking comfort and peace with the added bonus of unequalled Sri Lankan cuisine. It’s a great jumping off point for the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka and other parts of an island containing an unmatched combination of the wild, ancient culture, sand and sea.
All three of the large airy rooms opening on the garden and central courtyard have individual bathrooms reserved for their use as well as hot and cold water. Wi-fi is free. /There are several spacious sitting areas, both inside and outside the house. HPH is a working plantation carrying cinnamon, vanilla, bananas, cloves, nutmeg, pepper, and 30+ varieties of fruit available to guests either in fresh or preserved form depending on the time of year.
HPH is simply unique and a Sri Lankan destination without equal.
Additional Info
We can organize specialized tours and activities for you. Many places of interest are a comfortable day trip from HPH including the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, Kandy, the Cultural Triangle and many temples and archeological sites. Local activities include a visit to the local market, hiking and relaxing in HPH’s natural soaking pool. You can start or end your tour of Sri Lanka at HPH as we can arrange transport to or from the Katunayake airport.

About the Area
HPH is midway between Kandy & Kurunegala, approximately 20 kilometres from each, and is located on a hillside looking down the Weuda valley. Most of our guests arrive by car but several buses stop at the entrance to our road. If you prefer the train, we could arrange for transport to pick you up in Kandy or Kurunegala.

House Rules
HPH is meant to be your home away from home and we expect guests to share it with us as just that: welcome guests! Because of the facilities available it is not recommended for children younger than 5 years of age.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
