About the Homestay
I retired as Director, Veterinary Research Institute, Sri Lanka in 2012. My wife is a former Professor , Veterinary Microbiology at the University of Peradeniya. We built this house with the intention of living a quiet life in a pollution free environment
close to nature. This we have achieved. We want to share this with those interested. The house in secluded set among trees all round at the foot hills of Hantana Mountain range bordering the Forest reservations. The room is set alone complete with toilet (hot water shower ). Beautifully set garden with flowers blooming year round. Absorbing scenery of sun rise and sun set set against the mountain ranges in the horizon.

About the Area
The house is located at the foot hills of the Hantana mountain range bordering the forest reserves, just 3 kilometers from the Kandy main road.Absolutely quiet. Public transport and 3 wheelers are available within a 5 minutes walk. The world famous Temple of the tooth is at kandy City which is filled with historic and cultural places of interest and has a beatiful lake in the centre. The Pinnawela elephant orphanage, World heritage site Sigiriya Frescoes and Tea estates are some of the attractions close by. One could visit Polonnaruwa and Anuradapura, the ancient royal capitals of Sri Lanka while based at my house.

It was a very special moment on a very special place. The scenery cut out breath away and thula and ranjith are amaizing people. We really wanted to stay on est more night to keep discovering them. How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
