I am a retired bank officer and live with my wife who is a doctor and two school going daughters. Our home is in Peradeniya close to the Botanical garden and railway station and is 6 kilometres from Kandy. The guest room is a large family room with an attached washroom,private balcony and seperate entrance. We have a beautiful view of mountains and the mahaweli river. The University of Peradeniya and the Teaching Hospital of Peradeniya are only 10 minutes walking distance from Shalom. Special offer for university students seeking accommodation for more than one week.

Our Home is situated in a quiet environments.It is a 5 minutes walk from the bus stand, 10 minutes walkfrom the railway station and 15minutes walk from the botanical gardens. It is located in the central part of Srilanka with easy access to the rest of the country.

Rodzina wielopokoleniowa, wyedukowana, chętnie tłumaczy, pomaga, organizuje, częstuje tradycyjnym lankijskim jedzeniem. Pokój samodzielny, dostęp do kuchni, przestronny dom, ogród, blisko autobusy lokalne (5min) , cudny widok z okna, bo na wzgórza i zieleń. Ale przede wszystkim to bardzo mili ludzie - ciepli, opiekuńczy i dyskretni. Świetne miejsce, żeby zwiedzić ogród botaniczny ( 15 min pieszo) i mniejsze wycieczki do świątyń - ok. 5 km (najlepiej tuk-tukiem). Tuk-tuk do Kandy 350 RLK, ok. 30 min. Polecam z całego serca i warto słuchać ich rad planując dalszą podróż. Nam kupili bilety na pociąg na trasie Kandy-Colombo, podwieźli do hotelu na kolację pierwszego wieczoru, odwieźli do ogrodu botanicznego i na stację kolejową, doradzali kierunki podróży. Mają dwie nastoletnie córki, które są ciekawe innych dzieci i cudzoziemców. Bardzo dobrze mówią po angielsku.
Our hosts are very nice, helpful, and discreet family. On the first evening they showed us great place to have a dinner; later helped us to buy train tickets, and adviced us on our trip to Sri Lanka. We also dined together; we had opportunity to taste delicious home-made food and to spend evenings with whole family - it was our chance to learn spirit of Sri Lanka.
If you have children I encourage you to meet two wonderful daughters of our hosts. They like to learn about world and to meet new people.
Home is located up the hill with splendid view at the surrounding hills and greenery. It's just some 5-10 minutes (by tuk-tuk) from railway station, less than 5 minutes to main road to Kandy with bus stops and shops, and about 15 minutes walk to the botanical garden.
The room itself is clean, spacious, with its own bathroom, balcony with entrance to garden, and access to kitchen.
We are so happy that we could stay there and we will miss the whole family. It was like visiting our own relatives. Thank you very much.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
